Yeah... I can't wait to get some pictures of it up... and a video of the idle.

The neighbours are going to absolutley hate me at 6.10am when I leave for work.

I think that the first thing to chang on it will be the exhaust for a quieter one!

Yeah, it's been ages that I've wanted it. The plan was alwsy to get it after the house was built but because the bimmer was a write off the plan changed. Also I blew my budget by a bit. Original plan was 30K driveaway but I ended up paying $31500 though this included the 5 year, 200,000km warranty. It includes stuff like Clutch, Aircon, All Electical, etc so pretty well covered. PLus they let MY mechanic do the work adn they just pay him.

Yeah... it LOOKED like it was running like SSL front and SL rear... maybe not that extreme but definately looked to have front rake on it.

Just going to have to be careful of gutters at the end of parking spots so I don't wreck the front bar...

Just got in touch with the workshop that did all the mods on this and the bloke is going to send through an email about what it's had done to it.

So should have some more details by the end of today hopefully.

That's a good deal, bit more than I would have thought a VZ R8 was worth, but with a 5yr/200XXX warranty...that's crazy, how do they expect to make money off that????

Good to see it's got a good OTR/Exhaust/MAFless as well. That should pull a good dyno figure but more importantly make it a sweet cruiser

Your not leaving this at the station every day are you ???

Haha, yeah, very big change from the bimmer. Though both had sunroofs... the similarities end there.

Yeah, I only got to take it for that one test drive the day I bought it and I didn't open up the taps completely.

But it felt like a rocket!

Going to take some getting used to with the short shifter, it was very tight, felt awesome to shift. Just that I'm used to a very loose shifter with ALOT of travel in the bimmer and I was struggling to find gears a bit lol.

Haha I know what you mean, I learned to drive manual in an E36 and an E30. Got in the Kia Rio to do my license test (not quite the same as an R8 lol, but the gearbox was really tight) and was all wtf.
Will definately keep at eye out for this beast at the station.

Ok... so I've posted this on LS1 forum aswell. Now, one of the blokes on there had all the work on his car done by the same workshop and says that he'd seen this car in there a few times.

Apparently one of those times he got talking with the workshop owner about it and I have to still confirm this, but apparently this thing has heads, cam, gears, etc and was putting out 340rwkw.

I still haven't confirmed any of this as I'm waiting on the email from the shop, but if it is one and the same car.... awesome.

Just got some AWESOME news... car is ready TODAY!

    Picking it up at 4pm.

Also, got off the blower with the workshop who did the tuning.

Mainly wanted to know what fuel to run it on and what power it pulled.

Well, it was tuned to run BP Ultimate (My wallet just had an "Epp!" sound).

The best the car got on the dyno was 345rwkw... but it was down tune a bit to behave nicer and is now running at 335rwkw.

What have I got myself into...

Nice R8 and waesome news about the power output.
With these cars you should only ever put 98octane in them, better for the whole car in the long run.
You can get away with 95 if you keep your foot off the accelerator but imho always use 98.
Some brands supposedly give better results than others but a lot comes down to where in the country you buying fuel from as some brands use the same fuel just branded in their own name.
    Enjoy.

Thanks mate, yeah I am pumped about the car overall, the power output is a bonus.

I would have taken the car for that price if it was pretty much stop because it was so clean inside about out.

The amount of work done to it was a complete surprise. Just lucky that I stumbled across it.

Yeah, going to run it on 98RON all the time it looks like.

I don't want to find out what happens if I put 95PULP in it. I assuming pinging at the top end but I'm not keen to find out.

Plus, it pull so hard that I'll probably never need to take it past 300rpm! lol.

Jest, that's sick dude! Great find then.

Haha. Convince your fiance to let you convert it to straight Liquid Injection LPG.

335rwkw turns into 360+rwkw and fuel is half the price.

    FAAAAAAAAAAARK!

Picked up the car, drove it about 500m down the road and something is not right. Speedo is showing 60kmph when I'm keeping up with traffic in a 80kmph.

Pull over, turn GPS on with speed, drive, yep, speedo is out by about 20kmph.

Like the owner switched out a 3.9 or 4.11 diff for the 3.46 just before selling it. Without getting it reset.

So the dealer is taking it to Holden to get the speedo re-calibrated, but I'm just hoping Holden can do it since it had a tune!

Car has been returned and should have it back by the end of the week.
