    Default Cv8 r

Hi, noob here. My CV8 R with X Force cat back and Pacemaker headers. Also a before and after of my long gone HQ LS and the CV8. Time between drinks is around 20 years. :-)

Looks good mate. The first photo is awesome. The area really hasn't changed in 20 years. Got any further plans for it?

Thanks, no nothing changes very quickly in Adelaide. I intend keeping it reasonably stock looking. That said I am getting an over radiator intake built and then a tune. It has an Alpine head unit, Alpine front splits and JL 6" subs in the rear deck. I have some Alpine SPR 6.5" 2 ways for the rear and a new 6 channel JL XD600/6 amp to go in. They guy I bought it from also put in the guages on top of the dash. Other than that it is pretty standard. And I got all the original parts including the exhaust, head unit etc from the guy I bought it from.

One very nice Monaro, must feel a little different to the old LS.
What engine was in the LS, 6 or 8?

Thanks. It’s only done 48,000ks and the paint and interior is really still like new. All I could have hoped for. I intend to keep it forever. Let one Monaro go, won’t make the same mistake again. The LS was 4.2. Gutless as. LOL. Funny thing it was really a piece of shit to drive but it sounded awesome because of the stupid unrestricted exhaust and it just looked beautiful. I still want one but at around $30,000 or more it’s not going to happen.

That's the way to do it mate, the true measure of a good sound system is if it works for the person who has to listen to it!

Exhaust sound is one area where the old Holden V8 in any size beats the LS range
