This is my new daily just picked it up this afternoon. is pretty much stock, wont be getting much done to it as its to tow the vl and daily drive. let me know what you think.
will get some more pics up asap.
love it m8, cant wait to see it, when i get mine back we should take a few pics![]()
cheers guys, yeah for sure dan.
havnt done much since i bought it yet, lowered the rear a touch more and now am happy with the height. alos bought some binnacle gauges for it only to find they only suit models with climate controll so they are currently up on ebay trying to get my money back for them lol. had a look at the exhaust and its twin 2 1/2'' catback into 3'' single then center muffler then single 3'' to the rear, no rear resi.
alos noticed front swaybar link bushs are knackered, common problem so will be replacing them this weekend when i service it most likely, also on the list is new caster rod/ radius rod/ Z bar which ever name you prefer, bushs lol.
wanna do rear end adjustable bushs also as it doesnt have the adjustable rods that some do, so the rar tyres scrub out pretty bad. am just enjoying it at the moment.
Nothin like a white ss ute.. soo Clean!
and i know what u mean about the common problems of those bushes as i went and got my car checked at holdens and they listed all those same bushes too lol my gf works there so i get good prices anyways![]()
Cheers mate, yeah im a mechanic so I see it all the time lol. And yeah prices are pretty good for me to. Will try get some pics up ASAP guys
did service and repalced the swaybar link pin bushs last weekend, am currently bidding on a set of extractors are cat sections for her, and also looking at a intake. think i may have a broken engine mount so that is fairly high on the list to be replaced. few quick pics i took

looks clean mate.
want to see more then a typical commodore fitted with an exhuast, then check my thread out... link broken cuase i dont own a tuff car, i just made it up...
Nice ute mate
cheers, transfered it into my name last week and got some premium XX white on black series plates while i was at the rego office, looks way better in my opinion. will be getting lowered hopefully within the next week or 2, also bought a K&N cold air intake off of ebay, got it for $100 so that will do for the time being, if i decide to go further with the ute i will get an OTR. just waiting for it to rock up in the post. will chuck up some pics of new plates and engine bay pics once cold air intake is installed.
love the look of a white ss slammed on black wheels mate, very tidy, future mods sound respectable too
since its a manual sean you cant teach mealways wntd to drive a manual V8
k&n intake is installed and gave it a nice induction note.
picked up a set of 4 into 1 pacemaker extractors last night, came with standard cats but modded to bolt up to extractors and catback system. when i rocked up guy said i could just take the catback system he had sitting there so i took that even though it is to suit a sedan. so payed $400 for extractors and cats which i thought was pretty cheap and scored the catback system for free. am planing to install them saturday after hours so i can use the hoist, from what ive heard the 4 into 1's are quite a pain to install on the drivers side.
extractors are in, what a pain they were. gave it a nice note at idle and different throughout the rev range. am looking to install hiflow cats and get a different catback sytem, upon closer inspection when i had it on the hoist its only a single 2'5'' system so i want at least a twin 2,5'' system. got my front superlow HD king springs on friday also and installed them, has brang the front down to a very nice height now. also changed to my 19's as the rear 2 tyres on the 20's mysteriously poped lol. few quick pics

blue leather seats i picked up tonight. picture after cleaning one.
and after they both had a clean.
drivers does have some minor wear in the usual spot but nothing to major. were sitting in someones shed said they came in their kingswood that they bought but werent fitted properly. so the rails are pretty mangled, ill have to use my rails on them. got them for $200 absolute bargain, they didnt even know what car they were to suit haha.
nice job sean, those seats look like a very early ss series, came up pretty gd after the clean from what they where! SSV's look awesome too
Those seats are from an 02-03 model. They changed to the fatter seats with the VYII. You should be able to just unclip the leather and base and transfer to your seat frame bases. Make sure u put the driver's on the passenger side and vice vera to slow down the wear hey. The upper part of the seat should just bolt on to the base - goodluck!
mine is a series 2 and its an 03 model ?? the seats look the same as whats in there at the moment to me lol ? yeah the tyres werent the best when i got the car but i did do 2 massive skids, one at a mates birthday and another for no real special occasion lol. didnt exactly pop but got eggs in the side wall on the in side, canvas hanging out and would loose all air pressure over a day of sitting there.
with the seats are yous thinking i may have troubles changing the rails over ? i didnt even know there were different seats in the vy range.
Yeah the seats are different, big time. Nahhh, the metal frames should still be the same, but I am not 100% sure. At least urs are not in the car so you can more easily play around and find out. Compare the seats u just bought with this:
VZ SS
Check it out - man the cloth patterned seats you have in your ute are the same as these if it's a VYII. Anything VYII --> has these seats up till the end of VZ. IMO the earlier ones were pretty cool, but the later ones were even better!
BTW will post up a few pics of the seat cushion stuff this Sat if I have time. Never seem to have spare time off work these days!

BTW VYII started late 03. What month is on ur compliance plate?
Bwhaha! Yeah i know the feeling. When I got my SS I went straight to Rookwood and sparked em up big time. Was driving back on Homebush Bay drive with ppl cheering at the slap slap slap sound my battered rubber was making on the tarmac!![]()
Was a bit pricey for an arvo of fun though ....
