Ok sweet, there is sub boxes on ebay that say you can have your seat all the way back with a full 12inch sub in it, just type in "vz sub" on ebay an you should find them, they look good but not sure how they go, i wanna get them for my ute when i do the sound system, im also looking at getting some paint for my calipers, but thats after i do a few things first now though

HSV VG VP VR VS VU VY VZ UTE 12INCH SUB FIBREGLASS BOX | eBay

there are these on ebay as well i dunno about reversing a sub in them though but they are friggen expensive for what they are

also on reversing subs my mate and i tried reversive a sub in between the seats in his vu one day but it the speaker rubber itself hit the back wall and sounded crap, so if your gunna reverse a sub, buy a proper reversible sub that can still allow sound through the basket and not net the rubber part hit the back wall of the cabin, either that or fabricate yourself a ring to go around it do give it a bit of depth, but a reversed sub between the seats does look pretty sick haha

having those bayside sub boxes is annoying mate. i made my own one and even though it fit well and sounded good it was so annoying having it right there next to your head, and they stick out a bit and ruin your vision on the side and through the back. plus they look a bit gay imo.

yeah i get what youse mean about the bayside auto boxes, im not a fan either, i was just trying to find something for the op lol

@TurismoBlueStormUte; yeah those subs would go hard, or you could buy the empty boxes themselves and pic your own subs and amp to run through them

personally in my ute im gunna put on of these: CUSTOM MADE SUB WOOFER BOX FOR VU,VY,VZ UTE,HSV MALOO | eBay

and run a polk mm1040 through it, should kick hard enough for me for a while haha

yeah they look pretty mad aye, i just wonder how much fabrication work would be in doing it with the sub backwards, unless you can gat the right sub. maybe even do a search or post in the car audio section asking about reverse mount subs and post those pics so people know what you mean, and dont worry if some people slam you for it, its your car so its your choice

in my ute with the stereo im going for a bit of a stealth theme personally, like you wont even know its there till you hear it haha

Like the look of the badge an grill, suits it well with the black rims too what do you think the badges will look like being painted Matt black?

The only badge I've got on it is the rear chrome Holden badge which I'm also going to spray gloss black.

Hey guys it's been a while since I've been on hear last.

Was driving up to a mates holiday house in lancelin hear in WA, which is a 1 hour drive from my place. Was about 40 mins into my drive and overtook a caravan sitting on a about 90 so I sped up to about 120 to over take and as I pulled back infront of the caravan and noticed that smoke was pissing out the back, looked down at the dash and it was revving its head off,I didn't hear it reving due to my stereo being up to loud, clutch has obviously let go, so sat on the side of the road at 8 at night for the RAC flat bed truck to come pick me up about 80ks outa Perth took them 4 hours to get to me due to that day being 42 degrees and had lots of overheated cars apparently.
So I'm looking at getting a Exedy clutch which ive been told and heard is the best... I've been quoted 3 grand for clutch and installation.... Thoughts....?

should ask about clutch prices on the vz commodore questions section man, but that sucks aye, i have heard that clutches in commodores are pretty bloody expensive to replace though

i got a nice bit dent in my ute yesterday to lol my gfs older brother backed into me with their $80'000 lexus

Finnaly sold my trail bike so I can now afford a new clutch, going with the exeddy gonna set me back a reluctant 3 grand for it all to be fitted and done :/
but haven't driven it since Australia day been missing it so bad!
Was thinking of getting brakes done as well fluid has never been changed and mabey getting some slotted rotors, would look nice behind the rims might be a bit of overkill tho?
Also hopefully get the calipers painted, still not 100% on what colour to get I'm split between turismoblue, yellow and orange....?
Wanna get as much done to it as I can all at once at this brake and clutch place get it a bit cheaper getting heyps of stuff done at once.
    Thoughts would be great!

    Cheers

the slotted rotors sounds good, they will improve your braking heaps of course, i would go yellow or orange to be different mate, yellow suits it, especially seeing as you already have matt black rims an badges, the yellow should set it off, but its completely your choice, im only saying yellow cause thats they color i would have painted mine if i still had my ute cause ive seen it done an it looks good

hey bud good to have you back, sucks about your ute though i hope it gets fixed up soon, ive done a bit to mine you should check it out haha

as for the calipers i vote yellow, i was going to do mine yellow but then i thought they would look weird with the gun metal rims, so i just went the tried and tested red and it came up a treat even tricked the missus into thinking i spent $1000 on brakes hahah

yeh think im gonna get all the brakes done and rotos changed also, and probs gonna go with yellow calipers

    was thinking of these lights?

    or these lights?
also i basically want to mimic the rear end of this car love how the number plate is in the middle and the black fill-in would match the rims and how the bottom of it flares or skirts out.... what you think?

and also these head lights i love them

and im still keen on the font fender flares and grills with the indicator in the middle

and i love this gauge pod housing heyps better then the original one

please let me know what you guys think, my plans for the year....

putting the ute in tomorrow to get a exeddy clutch fitted.... to be honest im a little scared to see what its gonna be like with this new clutch.

Yes to the pod gauges cos they look pretty sweet when installed.

No to the tail-lights...not really an improvement in my eyes.

Headlights....eh I'm 50/50 on them...the L.E.D strips tend not to look all that great on cars other than the euro or cars that come with them standard and for $500 bucks it's a pretty steep cost to pay....could probably find somewhere better to spend it.

Both tail lights? Top one is standard bulb that kinda protrudes out with a black backround and the bottom is LED tail lights with a black backround

I love the look of the head lights but a little hesitant to how they would look in general with the LEDs

L.E.D's are usually on the more luxury type euro models and I think the Lux look doesn't quite mix with the Ute either, and yeah....no to both tail lights they don't look great...but I understand if you want to make it more personal to you and you do change them...they aren't hideous, they"re not just amazing.
