    Default 2004 Clubsport Y Series 2

    Hey guys, my VY clubby.

    Name:
    Jack

    Model:
    2004 CLUBSPORT Y series 2
    Color:
    Vesper Blue
    Engine:
    LS1
    Engine Mods:
    - Duspeed OTR
    - 233/233 @ 113 camtech cam
    Exhaust:
    - Di Filippo stainless steel 1.75" 4 into 1 headers
    - Di Filippo dual 3" hi flow catalytic converters
    - Di Filippo 2.5" mandrel bent exhaust
    Gearbox:
(M6) 6 Speed Manual, w/factory fitted short shift
    Diff:
    4.11 gears w/Standard LSD(rebuilt)
    Power:
    753 NM & 287rwkw @ 6500rpm
    Wheels:
    18" VY clubby alloys
    Stereo:
    - Pioneer double din head deck
    - JL audio 6" splits
    - JL audio 6" rears
    - JL audio 12" sub
    - JL audio 4 channel amp

    Current Mods(all performance specs above):
    - HIDs for foggies & low beams
    - HSV gauge pod(vacuum&oil temp)
    - All blue LEDs throughout car.
    - New HSV mats

    Future Mods:

    PERFORMANCE
    - McLeods RXT clutch & GM rip shifter(as soon as funds permit)
    - Cnc current heads(241) OR 243's from an ls2, oil system upgrade, double row timing chain, lifters etc. not sure on all this yet, I'll be getting it all in later this year.
    - Much further down the track when I'm financially solid(have another car) Ill supercharge it

    VISUAL
    - Powder coat my current alloys charcoal and later some 20" Rims, not sure what will suit the color yet, I'm thinking something mostly gun metal/Charcoal with chrome highlights, a 5 spoke type, Ill add images
    - Blue dash LEDs
    - Full blue leather interior including dash, doors, seats(currently fabric), roof etc EVERYTHING. I'm a little worried that doing this blue might look cheap, but having said that I've seen it look really good
    - Paint or Anti-rust coat hubs(heavily rusted at the moment)
    - Darkest legal tint
    - Personalized plates when I can think of something worth getting!!

These pictures were taken before I gave it a decent detail. I've clay barred it and its turned up a treat. Ill get some more photo's at a later stage, for now, enjoy...

    Nice clubby, love the colour.
Unless you plan on lots of engine mods (large cam) then the exhaust you have is one of the best suited for your current status and even most mild cams.

Nice car and yeah the exhaust is pretty on the money for what you want. As for your licence put the car in the garage until April. Getting busted and losing your licence isn't worth driving a v8 a few months early.

Yea I reckon diff gears. First thing though, a coupe of visual mods, tail lights, going to go for something darker, the red looks cheap!! HSV mats and sill plates. I've got a month off work coming up and nothing planned, so plenty of time to detail it and take photos! Might use the time to install some 6000K HIDs, you're doing the same hey.

First set of tail lights look pretty nice. It might take away from your HSV though. Keep it looking as factory as possible IMO.

Maybe just get your set smoked?

Keeping it looking factory is one of my biggest wants, but there is just something about those tail lights...
    Yea, maybe I will.
Id even be happy with a set of VZ tail lights... If yours go missing, you know why, lol.

i have fitted VY2 Calais tail lights to my senator and just to keep it legal I have also fitted small reflectors.
Calais lights definitely look better than the Berlina ones fitted to HSV Z's

Yea, it's got the GTS pipe, so it's a straight through to the HSV airbox. I've taken out that 90mm cap and run an elbow join from the hole to just under the headlight. Made a bit of a difference but definitely need the OTR and a new tune. So much I want to do but have to wait until I can take it out to get work done!!
That and I'm waiting to sell my current car for some $$$

Installed my HID kits last week. Fog lights and headlights. I've did a write up for the fog lights since there is no info about it anywhere as far as I could see. (Fog lights hid conversion hsv vy)
Here are some pictures! Car is a little dirty but you can't really tell...

    2004 clubsport y series 2-photo-22.jpg
    This is just headlights
    2004 clubsport y series 2-photo-27.jpg
    Then just fog lights
    2004 clubsport y series 2-photo-26.jpg
I've found the fog lights to be quite effective but I could just be over enjoying my new toy. In any case I only got them for look, to suit the head lights. I don't use them in traffic or anything. They're just for the look.
It was a fun DIY job and fairly inexpensive.

+1 on this, twin 2.5" is enough unles your chasing 350rwkw+ etc.

Also, don't tune and then save for a cam, wait till you have the cam so you don't have to pay for tuning twice. Considering on average you're looking at around $900 per tune, makes sense. Save yourself $900 now measn you have enough for the cam sooner.

I got those same valve caps less the red bit.

    Nice clubby.

Well Powertorque took $500 off my cam package due to I had the car already tuned there previously so unless you go back to the same tuner there shouldn't be an extra charge IMO

Typically they knock it back to an hourly rate instead of a flat rate.

Nice, they're who I'm getting most of my work done through. I'm pretty keen to get a tune with the OTR cause I'm thinking about getting it into power play @ Willowbank in May. I'll have it on coil overs, 20s, OTR and diff gear upgrade by then. Not sure if it's going to be tough enough for PP! Pretty keen to just get out there with the monsters though.

I'd get the cam before some wheels - that way you'll learn to calm down before you skid the crap out of some expensive ones.
