So here's my 02 VY Calais, Purchased in June 2011 with 115'000kms on the clock. now has 127'XXX.. full service history, found it at my local holden dealership when was bored one day looking at car dealership cars to have some fun and get a few test drives with a mate.
Sold my VR and was initially after a VZ Calais but settled for this one due to the overal and mechanical condition it was in. Bought it bog stock except for Headunit.
Unfortunitly no leather from factory being Series 1, V6. But oh well
Enjoy.

Considering A Manual Conversion!
nice car carl!
some notes. 15% would look ok with it i recon, maybe 20-25% so its not TOO dark?
to tell if ur diff is LSD is easy. two ways. 1- look for an LSD tag on the diff 2- load up the revs n let her rip on some super smooth concrete n if ur skid marks r pretty equal u have an LSD, if one is ALOT darker n longer then the other, uv got a standard diff.
dont bother getting plenum spacers or manifold insulators, i recon they didnt do anything to my old ecotec. other then create flat spots till i got it tuned to suit.
leather interior would be nice! but it would be super cold in winter n super hot in summer.
on the auto's getting Slotted fronts n rears is a must. get some bendix pads too man, they'll pull you up nice n hard. its not the most sudden stops ever, but its definately better then stock/non-existant commo brakes. (im glad my vz's manual or id be doing my breaks straight away, gosh they are shocking in comparison to my utes upgraded brakes!)
those 20's REALLY suit, well picked!
interested in HIDs maybe for my vz, msg me on facey with who did urs n how much?![]()
VZ SV6 now, Jelly?
nice rims mate.....nice car to kinda looks like mine.......
yea man, its got 35% tint on from factory but back window needs re-doing, so rest of the windows are fine.. i had 18% on my vr that was great. loved it, alot cooler in summer too. oh rly. also question josh, did u see much benefits from ur tune? where did u get it? how much? what'd they do? yea mate ill msg u on facey the details for HIDS, u wont be disapointed.

my mechanic tuned it for me. didnt use a dyno or anthing, he just adjusted a bunch of things to suit and utilize the mods we'd done to the ute. he took it to his workshop the next day n ran it on a hub dyno for 140kws atw. not bad seeing as it had like 100ish to start. 1st n 2nd gear were punchy as!!! was good having a nicely ratio'ed diff.
my car had alot of breathing capacity, and a great expelling capacity. meaning i had alot of induction mods to draw tones of air in, but i also allowed that air to be utilized and expelled through the exhaust cause of my free flowing exhaust. we had to adjust fuel pump n lines n timing of a couple of things here n there to mkae sure there werent any flat spots with all that air induction.

About time you got her up here Man.... Car looks friggin awesome in person. You need to visit and post on the forums more often![]()
If it's not a Symptom its not relevant, and if its not relevant I don't care!

The VZ is here! About time!
That headunit is so ugly! haha!
Other than that love the rims![]()
ill give u a list-
1. growler -450$
2. 70mm borred out n polished throttle body from Gattor inductions -180$
3. 12mm manifold insulator -150$?
4. High ratio roller rockers 1:9:1 mace -like 350$ 2nd hand 5000kms old.
5. crows cams push rods - free with rockers
6. pacemaker extractors - 660$
7. 2x caramic 300CPSI hi-flow cats -500$
8. 2.5inch redback catback exhaust with muffler, resonator then twin tip -410$
my diff was 3:46:1 ratioed. i dunno how well that'd work in an auto gear box cause the auto's r generally longer ratioed.
my 1st gear would get me to like 40ish kms, 2nd would get me to 75ish kms, 3rd would get me to 125ish kms. thats hitting top revs where i dont wana push further n hit the limiter. cameron P on these forums has a vx with a different gear ratio, like 3:7:1 in his manual n his 2nd gear tops at like 95 kms n his 3rd gets to like 150+kms. his gears are longer n he can get top speeds where as my ute could punch off the line quickly but then didnt have any grunt or a high top speed.
my current vz has 6sp n the diff ratio is 2:89:1 or something. very short gears so its pretty punchy off the line, but its saving grace is 6th gear that lets the revs sit lower on highway speeds. if it were limited to 5 gears it'd be up there at like 2.5k revs at 100kmph, instead of 2k revs at 100kmph.
