Hey all, thought it was time to show off my SS. Let me know what you think (good or bad).

CAR: 2003 VY SS series 2
COLOUR: Cosmo
KM: 97000
ENGINE: Standard 5.7
GEARBOX: 6 speed manual
WHEELS: 19" RJR Tremor. Black with polished lip
SUSPENSION: Pedders superlow
INTERIOR: Black leather



I have plenty of plans for it but have really been concentrating on tidying up the paintwork and interior to my fussy standards before I start to extract more power.

Looks very neat and reasonably low kays for a VY model, great starting point for mods.

Yeah cheers mate, that's exactly why I bought it...in good nick and untouched (so far). The paint needed a fair bit of correction but it's pretty much back to 'as new'. Just have to do the minor things like painting the calipers and hubs then I can start on the go fast bits-even the exhaust is still standard!!

That's awesome...at least you can start your mods from scratch and not having to redo someone else stupidity

Thanx Munz the only downside is I will have to pay for all the mods, but like you said at least I know it will be done right. Had a look at your car and that thing is nice!!

Yea cash is the only downside but fairly cheap if you know how or know someone that can do it for favours - hopefully not sexual favours

Haha, hope it doesn't get to that cause I don't know any good looking female mechanics. On the upside I do most of my own work but when I get stuck my brother (mechanic) gets a call.

Cosmo is my favourite colour on the VY's!

Good job on picking one up with Black Leather too.

What do you have in store (mod wise)?

Cheers mate. I was originally looking for a Hothouse green one but couldn't go past this when I found it. The black leather does look better than the purple imo. As for mods it will be getting a catback first of all to make it sound like it should then when funds allow OTR,tune,headers and cats. Inside will get a touchscreen and speaker upgrade. I also like the look of VZ taillights.

Finally saved for a cat back exhaust!! Would a twin 2.5" with no rear muffler drone too much or not?

it will drone way to much IMO...but I like em with a rear muffler

Whats your budget?

Budget is $500 or less hence the reason for no rear muffler = cheaper. lol. I just want it nice and loud without it being too offensive on the ears. Also don't want to have to change the rear section again when I do the OTR and headers etc.

just had a look around ebay if your not fussed for brand there is a redback twin 2.5 mild steel system for 299 brand spankers

REDBACK TWIN 2.5" CAT BACK EXHAUST VT - VZ COMMODORE | eBay

or hit up NAAF he could possibly get a supercat system for under $500 or some places have xforce for under 500 mild steel

If I was you I would change the kiss pipe on all these exhausts to a xpipe to even out the flow

Cheers for that Munz, I checked it out and in the description it says it is actually a x-pipe design....and CHEAP!!!
I did have redback on my old 5 ltr and found it to be really good so I might have to invest in this. Thanks again mate.

Where u located bud I have just bought pacemaker headers and gonzo exhaust for my vy ss so I have a redback cat back system on it that I will be selling wen I take it off it's not even a yr old

Got the new system on and wow big difference the sound of it and how it goes is a big difference, that's cool anyway about the exhaust no worries

Nah mate not giving up, just postponing for a while. I'm in need of a dual cab 4x4 so the SS has to go.
