New here VY SS

Hey guys im new to just commodores, so i thought i would just post up some info on my car. Its a VY SS series 1 in heron white , picked it up for $16000 with only 76000 kms on it , it was a steal lol. I havent spent much on it just the usual, with BTA motorsport doing a custom dyno tune and OTR , pacemaker headers , and the previous owner has chop shopped the factory exhaust , i just bought some replica VE GTS rims for it and had a double DIN DVD player head unit installed
Future plans are to get hold of a leather interior , lower it and get a cam for her and if funds permit i would love to go down the vortech route lol Ill post pics up when i get home my iphone wont let me do it thanks guys

Haha yeah shouldnt be too long before i have some pics up just waiting to get some internet sorted at my new place ended up making 231rwkw on the tune with factory cats and exhaust ( but with the pacies on ) anyone got an idea what i should make with 100cpi cats and a catback , recommendations on what would be a good exhaust would be helpful too

Sounds like a nice pick up mate. 16G with such low Ks is great! 231rwkw is a decent number, should be a bit better with 3" cats and a good 2.5/3" cat back. Kinda wish mine was a 3" just for a tougher/louder sound but the tight sound of the 2.5" is good in its own way! Just depends what you want. Do you know what sort/size cam you're getting?

Im not 100% sure on what cam to get , i just know i want at least 300rwkw if possible ive heard theres a few cams out there that would get me pretty darn close just gunna have to shop around and talk to my tuner i think

Nice car mate, all sounds good other then the replica rims, I've heard a lot of bad stories about them, an a lot of other people would say the same thing

Yeah ive heard a few things too after i bought them tho but ill have to just see how they go lol been on nearly a year without a single hassle so hopefully they go ok

yeah it needs a few things done to it before im happy though, going to go kings SSSLs in the back and SL or SSL in front and get the front bar guide replaced to fix the gap in front bar then high flow cats and cat back , my mate is an auto trimmer so im getting an interior done fairly cheap then the hunt for power will be on

hey guys just an update fixed the missing centre cap ( 20 bucks off ebay lol much better than the 42 bucks holden wanted for one ) . I also ordered king springs SSSL for the rear still deciding how low to go on front at the moment and i may have a manual conversion coming its all starting to come together a bit now still a lot to do before im happy though

if you keep the right load rated tyres on your wheels, and try dodge the massive potholes, you should be fine with replicas
love a white holden and very good price for those kms, some of us just get lucky

what head unit have you got in there?

Yeah i was thinking bout powdercoating black but a few guys have said the heating part they do to the wheels can weaken them ?? And DSLXIK ive got the Philips CED1700 just a basic one for now

Series 2 has chrome badges where series 1 has satin badges
On the front bar below the rego plate series 2 has the top bar black and the bottom bar colour coded Series 1 has the top bar colour coded and the bottom bar black

Mine has satin badges and thats the way they resprayed her after some tool left his signature across the front in a shopping centre car park lol

The gauge thing is possible on mine. Advanced app mode, you have to buy some hardware to hook up to the car then buy an app for your iPhone/android phone and it'll display it. $$$$$$$$ as with everything. Got some cool features though. Worth a look.

Wooo springs arrived today gunna put SSSL in the rear and SSL in the front , i think i may have to roll guard lips in the fronts i have 225/30/20s on the front i think any help would be appreciated is anyone using this set up with unrolled guards ???
