    Default VY SS baby!

Thought Id share some pix of my baby.

Not much done to it apart from some funky blue lights (headlights, parkers, number plate lights and interior lights) and its been lowered 1 1/2 inches all round. Alls I want to do to her now is install a decent sound system, and a grille for the lower air-dam. Thats it, nothing too over the top but I like it that way - simple and clean! She's a tidy unit and she'll stay that way - I wash & detail her every wkend. No more to report, apart from she goes real well!!

Thanx to Marz for helping me post the other three pix.

Everyone seems to have different opinions about the blue headlights/parkers. They're not full blue, they're a "white-blue" and meant to look like those funky Xenon jobs. They just about look as good as the Xenon's - I got the expensive ones - not like some cheapies Ive seen that look budget-blue! Anyhoo, I was told they were'nt illegal - only the full blue are illegal. Haven't had any problems with the cops yet - mind you I was almost booked for having my fog lights on (by accident) during the day - what a stupid law that is!! Go figure...

Charg'd_VT she's an Auto. Ive always owned manuals till now, but I dont reckon you need manual in a V8 - or maybe Im just gettin old! It still goes hard though...

Very nice ride indeed. I agree with your sentiments on the autos, I have one after all my other cars being manuals. I think it has a nicer feeling to the ride when you can just sit back and not have to worry about changing gears.

There are plenty of options for stereos and the VY just has so much room it's scary.

    Yeah fully.
I love the kick-backs you get in the auto in Power Mode when you're cruising along and you put the foot down. 3rd to second or 3rd to 1st!!
The other day I was cruising along at 90 km/h in the wet. I plonked it and she dropped from 3rd to 2nd and started fishtailing up the motorway!!! Much fun, if not a little scary!
I dont know how those boys with manuals keep em straight or get any decent wear out of their tyres!!

The manuals are a lot more timid when planting them, found that out while test driving LS2 R8

Theres not much between the auto and manual track times these days either anyway.

Well, a manual would eat an auto around a race course, but down a straight the difference is neglible.

    This is true...
I reckon you get a better launch off the mark in an auto, especially if you stall it up and ride the brake. Gotta try not to get wheelspin though...

Yeah very nice car man. I bet you're stoked with it. I've just recently got myself a VY II Berlina not a SS I know but it's got a 5.7 Gen III under the bonnet and like you when you put your foot down it just goes!

The SS's are a beautiful car. I've just ordered myself a set of VZ SS mags to go on mine . Maybe I shoulda just got an SS instead

$27400 ?? Ouch!! Thats the thing about Holdens, they depreciate too quickly.
I got mine new for over $20K more than that only 2 1/2 years ago!! That sux, oh well might be time to update - VZ SS or a Clubbie maybe??

No... some berlina's just come outa the factory with a V8 although you can even find excutives that have been optioned with the GenIII (very rare though).

use www.imagevenue.com to host your pics and then just add the thumbnail to the forum. A lot easier and you can put up as many pics as you want!!!

    Nice ride too.

I couldn't afford an SS so have an executive SS lookalike. Still not the same as an Genuine SS though

    Prefer Manual to Auto anyday.
