Hey man, car looks great. i like the ride height sits really nicelooks good how you taken the spoiler off too, nice work!
Love the wheels buddy. Its sitting in the weeds nicely.Whats the power like with the alloytec? Responsive?![]()
silver dooooog
Cheers guys
I was actually looking at going a little lower haha will wait n see.
Yea the alloytecs not to bad, lacks a little bit of torque n power down low but I think thats got alot to do with the torque management system on them. Will be getting a tune done shortly which should give it a bit more power down low n allow me to use all that power with the torque management gone.
nice lookin ride mate! very clean. where did you get the white sidewall tyres?!??! i was planning to get em on my ute but couldnt find em anywhere, how much did they set you back and where did you get them if you dont mind me asking?
man thats a hot looking car, love the VY SS with out the wing.. very straight mate.. love the car.
Haha unfortunately yes...it is missing a couple of cylinders
But cheers SlipStream!
Got the car back yesterday after having the diff re-built under warranty. Drives alot tighter now..very happy with it. Going in tomorrow to get a suspected exhaust leak checked and hopefully be booked in for a tune for about 2-3 weeks time
lol my bad it was surpose to read (SS KIT with out wing) LOL!! my bad
Well a quick update...now have a few plans that Ive finally made a decision on doing.
- Car is now booked in for a tune on 24th Oct. so doing a few little mechanical touch-ups n getting a big service done before the tune.
- Finally getting SSL's and SSSL's as was first planned, going to buy them this week and hopefully get them put in next weekend.
- Getting my whitewalls done again as theyve deteriorated a bit. Thinking of getting twin white walls done this time.
- Then just doing a few little cosmetic mods like spraying the engine covers in an anodised blue. Might grab a few chrome bits for the interior and contemplating getting some interior bits like the dash surround and centre console surrounds sprayed in impulse blue.
Am looking for a few suggestions of thing I can do to the car so anyone with ideas, throw em this way.
This is a really nice car, except those wheels, looks like the sort of thing you'd bake pizza on lol.

I must say I do happen to really like my pizza haha! Nah its all good man, everyone has their opinions. Im just going more the show way as its a 6 its never gona be no race car
Gave my engine bay a bit of a detail as it was starting to get a bit messy and sprayed my engine covers. I reckon they look alright, think I might spray the 3 caps in the silver as well though
Anyway heres some pics of em

Car looks great mate i have a red sv6 but before i go off to the zorst shop what brand did u use and how does it sound. I know there will never be the v8 grumble but does it come anywhere close?
How did you go with the tune?
Thanks bud.
My cat-back is actually just a custom pipe job, not an off-the-shelf brand exhaust. The 2.5" single sounds nice though, nice deep note and doesnt really drone at all. I will probably look at changing it though to either an X-Force or Redback system, if I decide to keep modding this n get extractors n new cats.
Tune went ok, finished up with 142.2 rwkw, which apparently picked up about 12-13 rwkw from the tune. Was hoping for a little more but not bad for basically stock I suppose. However, I have seen some much better results then that popping up though so may look into them having another play with it. Would be much better off with changing extractors n cats and maybe a new cat-back as I mentioned before, but will weigh up whether I will keep this and do more mods or look at an SSOriginally Posted by -SV6-
Anyway heres the dyno graph

wheels dont suit mayb if it was lower, my opinion but that engine bay colour is very nice
MY VY SV8 HBD http://forums.justcommodores.com.au/...y-sv8-hbd.html
and leave the caps they look aight keeps it lookin like its orginal mate

Thats one bumpy graph
Yeah will be going lower in the next couple of weeks. Just gota find time to get it done haha. Been meaning to do it for quite a whileOriginally Posted by Joey_19
Yeah thats what I thought as well when I got it and it almost feels like that at times when driving the car as though theres a splurge of power. Think Im going to get them to have another look at it as the power figure doesnt quite seem right to me either as 142rwkw is basically 190fwkw which is the stock figure.Originally Posted by -SV6-
What the tune cost you if you don't mind me asking? How does that compare to Impulses figures
The tune was $990 which is the standard price everywhere I believe.
Impulse has well and truly got me covered as he achieved approx 176rwkw, however he does have extractors and high-flow cats. But I still dont think a 35kw difference should be there. I may have also lost a little on the dyno because of my 20's, maybe 3-5kw, but I believe my car is lacking somewhere.
where did impulse get his tune? i know Hi-Torque's Dyno reads lower than the other 3 mine has been on. my ss was only 192kw on there dyno befor the tune and i know on the 3 different dyno's i was over the 200kw mark
yeah the 20's drop maybe 10hp off. just remember that most dyno's read different and that they are a tuning tool. get it out the track and c what it does down the 1/4. i took mine out sunday but couldnt get a time since i burnt out my clutch
MY RIDES
VR Calais / VL Calais / WB Deville
Its all about the luxary!!!
Impulse had his done at Hi-Torque as well thats the only reason its got me thinking but extractors n cats would make a fair difference. Yeah I was thinking somewhere along the lines of 7-8hp with the 20's so thats about 147rwkw.
Yeah I think I would like to get out to the track at some stage. Might have to make my way out there one day. Let me know next time youre going Trent, would be good to head out with ya
