i am thinking about converting my ute to manual. i have considered selling and buying another but i am keen for a challenge. all the mechanical side of it is easy. just need to ask the wiring loom side of it. i under stand the auto computer in on the passenger kick panel. do u just disconnect this and then use the manual wiring loom, and leave the auto plug disconnected?
the other thing it sounded like you had a bit of trouble with getting all the computers to register that it is a manual. My plan was to send the ecu, bcm and pcm to logicar and see if they could reprogram them to suite manual.
I am just trying to clear all the question i have before committing my self.

hey guys, been a long time since ive been here, since last time ive taken a new job, moved to orange out the central west and enjoying life, vz's been copping loads more km's though from travelling between orange and nowra....,

i bowled a roo over with it couple months back and done 4k worth of damage to it, including shrinking the front end 3.5mm acording to the car-o-liner..... anyway all been fixed up now and running fine....

    lol ok

heres a couple of pics of how it looks now.... looks a lil more functional now

pics dont show much damage cause there wasnt that much.... but roo hit on the reo bar so trasferred the force through the car... not bad considering i hit it at around 90k an hour

    repairs were:
replace bonnett, bumper, grill, chrome strip, quater panel, headlight and a spotlight
    stretch and straighten front end...

car gets a bit dirty..... clay roads and rain.... big mess

Would conscider that a light damage hit - very lucky for 90 clicks. Did you dive bomb the brakes and flick the roo over the bonnet or did it bounce forwards? I've had one slide up the bonnet and almost through the front screen (in a 200B passengers seat) the driver was doing 110 and did not hit the brakes at all - just bang and I was spitting glass It was dawn tho and the roo just landed right in front of us. it was a very loud double bang in fact. Hardly any damage to the front of the car - deep down to metal gouges up the bonnet and a bent front piller and lost the side mirror (special Govt. option LOL). Also the window was 90% smashed in on my side so almost had the roo with busted legs in my lap.

lol thats quite an adventure...... the damage didnt look like much, but it did make a mess of the front end in alignment. the bonnet was pushed back about 5mm on the passengers side, all the gaps between bonnets, guards etc were out, the headlight had actually exploded so to speak, it had cracked though each 3 section of the back of the light, all the way round the outside, the lens of the front and blew the filments out of every bulb including the indictator which wasnt even on at the time...

i knew the roo was there, and was slowing down but it ran off into the bush so i was just coasting, than bam lol, i think i got about 1 second of braking before it went over the bonnett, got close to windscreen it clipped the antenna for the phone..

Careful with that driving light mount, I went through a RBT site the other day and the coppa told me that because the way the mount obscures the numberplate from overhead camera's ect., that I could get slapped with 100 and something dollar fine and 3 demerit points...

... when I asked him why do Supercheap/ect. sell them he just replied, why do places sell bongs?

i got pulled over at the end of last year in my 98 rodeo which had a nudgebar on the front, the coppers told me it was illegal because the number plate couldnt be seen from 45 degrees and i had to move it, pretty stupid considering thats how my rodeo came from the factory, but yeah he also said it was a bloody expensive fine aswell, so he just pinged me with a couple other things

hey guys just thought id put up a bit of an update..... well i sold the wagon, i needed something new and more practical for what im doing in my life at present, so i treated myself to a new 2012plated Mazda BT-50 4x4 with the bigger 3.2L 5cyl diesel engine,

Im happy to say the wagon has gone to a nice new home in victoria, the women that bought it is a member here, so it may get its own thread again...
