cheers minux, haha yeah i know but insurance says otherwise especially for a P plater
very nice and clean mate.. how many km's on the clock? Yeh i know how ya feel with insurance they are pricks.. but hey u got the car u want.. so its worth it. Very nice car mate.. i'm sure ur apprentice wage will be hit a bit hard tho :P
good luck with the mods tho hope to see it transform
thanks slipstream, shes got 88000km was a fleet car before i bought her, yeah not really liking insurance companys, it is and isnt the car i really want woulda preferred a ute but im happy anyway, yeah have stuff all money left to myself after car payment and insurance goes out
OMG its my cars clone lol.
I also have a VZ calais in silver with the cream interior haha.
V.nice although i am biased.
I would have to recommend a tune it really wakes them up on take off and overtaking.
Thats the first mod you should do for power.
Good luck
thanks for that andrewmac, yeah they definately look nice in the silver interior is sweet nothing i wanna change really, ok cool will have to look into that when i have savd enough money up to do anything, im happy with how well it goes in just standard form really, the paddle shift is also fun to play with for general driving
Make sure you put carpet mat to protect those nice carpets. Such a mint interior!!! Nice car!!
thanks attaboy have already priced a set of mats up and am waiting to get some more money then im gonna get them, yeah holdens done well with the layout and look of the calais interior, still loving the leather seats
update time have got my stereo installed today sounds so much better than the standard system, it consists of a Pioneer P5750 head unit with Alpine Type E 6' splits in the front doors Type S 6*9s in the parcel shelf, Alpine Typre R 12' sub in box in the boot with a alpine monoblock amp powering it and a soundstream amp powering the speakers, have also got some super low springs waiting to go in aswell, will get pics up soon
awesome ride dude gotta love the calais
thats one beautiful car mate. The calais is one of the best cars ever made in my view.
A Commodore is a passion. Anything else is just a car
evil_monkey cheers yeah am lovin it big time good fun cruisin around in thats for sure
LEDFUT thanks yeah got all the luxury you could ever need and decent power aswell
Heres a few pics of how the stereo looks in the car now, dont mind the sheet on the drivers seat its there to protect the leather from my work clothes

nice head unit dude, but it would certainly annoy me not having direct access to the climate controll
thanks the access is easy as just gotta push 1 button and it folds out the way for 30 seconds, or i can not have the screen out at all, but it looks cooler with it out though lol
Nice Calais, I wouldnt mind one of these for my wife. I love the dark exterior / light interior combo, I saw a weird greyish colour calais when I picked up my ute that looked gorgeous with bone leather trim. I dont like cave like interiors that are too dark. I imagine the light trim is hard to keep clean, but well worth the effort.
I like the head unit install, and with climate air you would need less access to the controls as its a set and forget system.
In my SVZ Ute I am constantly changing the aircon as it doesnt regulate the temp too well. As a consequence I couldnt have the screen over the controls. Too bad the ute doesnt have climate.
Thanks for that coffee_mogul there a nice car overall thats easy to drive, not too sure about what colour ur meaning though. The inside is pretty easy to keep clean actually but i do try to not make a mess in there anyway, in regards to the air con controls the only time i close the screen is to either turn it on or off really
update time finally got my springs in and only a couple pics for now cause i dont have the time to wash it and take some decent pics, will get some on the weekend though, all pics apart for the first one are 30 min after id lowered it

looks great mate, love this car and now it lowered its better.
was looking at a calais but no manuals
cant wait to see some more mods
no longer a hoon by association - the commodore is gone
cheers M5VT2 for ur comments, looks so much better in person being lowered now, yeah thats one compromise i knew there was going to be sadly, just gotta save for the mods sadly its a long and slow path
nice calais,
i think its good you kept the original rims,
thanks steve9119, ah with the wheels im savin for different ones now, but in sayin that i do like the original ones more now that its lowered
Time for a update got myself some 20s today, got some quick pics today wil get some better ones over the weekend, thanks to Stefan for getting me onto Brad at WCW for hooking me up with these wheels aswell
