Man you obviously didn't look to hard or need to learn how to use the search function: My VY berlina
not going to put chromes on it as im not a big fan of chrome rims on commos.
'What i want to do' list updated.

do it your way ur style, wish i had that as a L plate car thats for sure.
Make it look good not fast![]()
i suggest rims, tints and suspension as 1st mods.
and plz no mirror tint! i beg of u. just get a 20% tint, from ur pics ur windows arnt tinted.
Good luck with, cant wait for the updates
trust me they are tinted. I want to make it faster but the bloody rta won't let me "add engine performance".
The only downside of this car as a first car is that the insurance isn't cheap. So any upgrades may take a while. I do want it to look nice though
I sorta have the idea of darkest legal tint (black) and smoked tail lights. Sorta like the calais or SS ones but i want it smoked heavily so that its close to the same colour as the paint so its more of a stealth car. It's just an idea as my cousin put it to me the other day.
Only problem with that is i don't know where to get it done.

check with the rta as smoking ur lights isnt exactly legal depending how dark u go.
the car should be fast enough as it it, theve got plenty power std speshly for a learner(had to do it)
as for insurance check out just cars dot com. there pretty good with young drivers with mods to their cars, but u can only pay yearly no monthly's. much better imho.
Yeah. I was just thinking if i smoked them it would become illegal because the Berlina has the reflectors in the tails and i don't know if they would work properly if they are smoked. As i said, we'll see what happens next when i get the money![]()

Nice car, although it's a hard colour to keep clean but its the best when it's cleanChoice!

oh and by the way my reflectors still work awesome after i tinted them. I have had no interest at all from the police or transport.

good start mate, that was like my first car
i got the 1:1.97 rockers they go hard :-)
bit of advice tho, and i got told it heaps too, dont go too mental on a v6
i learnt the hard way
i had a VY S2 V6, bought it for 15k
spent 12 grand on it
sold it a year later for 13k to get the VZ SS ute
you don't get anywhere near the same power/torque or return on investment that an 8 will.
enjoy it by all means, but you will want an 8 eventually
the raptor kits are rubbish, good for like 170rwkw but you spend like 7 grand to get them running, for 4k you can buy a crate LS1 :-)
anyway man sorry to bring the mood down, again congrats on the car, just be sensible :-)

Also remember DUK13Y that all of our comments are opinions only
and for about $5500 you can have the raptor kit. If you have a decent exhaust/extractors and the high ratio Roller rockers you will put out closer to 220rwkw's
As for the Ls1 that is a good choice too, but it will be closer to the 7-8k mark by the time it has been installed, new loom ecu etcBut it does have a lot more potential for working it later.
You have plenty of time to work out what you want, for when you finally get your unrestricted licence.
So do you just cruise around with your mum or something?![]()
Yeah I know but I don't think I will be charging it. If anything would eventually upgrade to V8 Calais or SS.
I run L Plate Cruises with my mates who also have their L's. Sorta the same thing as this but without the active forum. Thanks for asking though. It's good to see new members with valid inputs.

TOP CAR!
I know its yOUr car but personally i would remove ALL the badges, yes even the 10mx4m chev badge lol
Lower it
Tint the windows
Black wheels with chrome lip.
Change the exhaust tip if you want aswell
Get some vy/vz calais/hsv spec onwards headlights
Some slotted rotors (only get em when the current ones need replacing)
Thanks mate.
I thought about removing all badges (not the precious chev badge though) and decided just to take off the V6 badges under the indicators. Believe it or not, the windows are tinted. The dealer ripped us off when they "tinted" them. Worst $500 ever spent. I want 'em redone with midnight express.
I was thinking of lowering a bit (maybe a bit lower than FE2) but technically it's my parents car for insurance reasons. If you didn't already know, I'm only on my L's. I'm not to sure how the insurance company would react to it.
I will be getting the Lukey exhaust by the end of the year (still need to convince parents that it's needed). Tip will be changed to a rolled dual chrome tip.
Will probably leave the rims for now.
Headlights are a bit expensive. But they do look good.
Rotors are still relatively young I think. Under 70,000kms.

Your rear chev badge isnt exactly dead centre btw....![]()
