My VZ monaro

Hey Guys,

decided to upgrade from the calais to a vz monaro, all i can say is... man it was worth it

its a 04 Build Odyssey Cv8.
Pretty much a standard Auto with Bluetooth and 53thou on the clock

its has a twin 3 inch stainless system with stainless extractors and big stainless cats
and a maf tune with adjustments to the shift points and etc to the transmission
thats left me with 315rwhp and a tough sounding monaro

Best car ive had in my short driving experience
all i can say is i spend to much money on my cars!

Car has run a 13.7 at 102mph on its first time out at WSID - not bad for having a boot full of work equipment, spare, full tank of petrol, standard tyre pressure, not launching it off the line and only little burnouts to conserve my street treadi

I would get a lukey cat back and maybe a CAI for your monaro. Would make her sound even nicer.

my kind of money haha, its not much, just worked with what i had and snapped up a bargan

welll ive got the hole saw kit out and the airbox already marked up!

and exhaust, im kinda thinking a sureflo setup... but ive been told if i start modding it ill have very sore body parts

insurance yeah, was a bit harder than the calais and that was a v8 too, insurance broker has got me sorted though.

the main problem is everyone thinks i want to race them cause im a p plater in a monaro, like these guys are in corollas/civics with canons, like seriously why bother...

Yep, I cop this in my VY too, I'm not a P-Plater, but I don't look as old as I actualy am (I'm 21). Riceboys always seem to be up for a race.

I've learnt to live with it, and I just sit there, don't even turn my head to acknowledge them. I sit there at the lights, smile, and just take off normally. No racing or speeding. 9 times out of 10, they'll be in my rear view eating my dust anyway.

im dreaming about the harrop H122 or a whipple blower but not until im over 25 cause it was hard enough to insure it as it is

i bought the calais out right from some savings, and took a loan for the monaro - ill have it paid off in 12 - 18 months

ah dam didnt realize youd clocked up that many k's mate car dealers are ruthless when it comes to giving you back what your rides worth as you know they are in it for the $$$. with around the 30 - 50 thousand km mark ya calais would of been worth 28k lol.

but yeah nonetheless ya new ride is awesome wish i had one

yep very very happy with the monaro, just taking it very easy at this time of double dermits, i get enough looks at it is, dont need any from the boys in blue

Thanks mate, ive been lucky, well very lucky compared to you, it needs a bit of things here and there, like i want to fix up all the stone chips on the front bumper stuff but i can live with it for the time being as i dont have cash at the moment

hey mate nice car. but i would leave it standard. my boss modified his 6 speed with an exhaust and cai and got a mafless tune i think it was,
it pulls 250rwkw dont know if anythign else was done. but his has only done 38xxxkms and he said that because its not a stock monaro resale is less.

I'd just give her a maf tune if your worried about the resale issues. Personally I wouldn't worry about modifying it aslong as you keep all the original parts like exhaust for example so you can return her to original state if need be. I'm sure a tune isn't going to bother anybody

yea i thinking about a sureflo cat back, the 2 hole mod and a maf tune or something along those lines, just minor stuff because im not going to drag it, or go for horsepower heros or anything like that
