Hi everyone... well it's been a long time (since 2005) that I've been looking for a new car and finally I have one.


Model: 2004 VY Series 2 SV8
Engine: 5.7L Gen III V8
Transmission: 6 speed manual
Colour: Red Hot
Factory extras: Rear power windows, side airbags

Future mods: (Green means done, red means I have them they just need to be fitted)

Pacemaker 1 5/8" Four-into-one extractors
XForce 2 1/2" Dual Exhaust in Stainless Steel
Two-piece red 'LS1' engine over

It's done a fair few k's (over 150 000) but it is a one owner vehicle with full service history and hasn't been modified in any way (yet!). It doesn't look like much at the moment but hopefully that will change with a different front bar, rims and lowered.

Just did my first mod to this car.... alloy faced pedals. A small mod i know but its only the beginning. Took me about 2 mins to do the clutch and brake pedal... a lot longer to do the accelerator, damn roll pins they are my enemy. I ended up just yanking the old pedal off (its still 100% intact) and hammering it out then using a split pin to put the new pedal on. Pics up tomorrow maybe.

i would have been scared off by the k's. did u find out if they are country k's?

Yeah it was owned by a Bosch rep so they are mostly country K's driving from dealer to dealer... i picked it up for the right price too $16200 so I'm pretty stoked with it.

Yeah i live in the country so black wasn't my first choice. One of my mates has a black VYII S pack and the only time i've seen it clean is when he pulled out of the carwash....

hmmmmmmmm maybe... I really don't mind the badges and I'm leaning towards just a VZ clubby front bar. Not fussed about the cluster but i'll probably be doing a blue dash conversion.

Looks clean n tidy, are they the standard exhaust tips for the SV8's? looks aftermarket

before you do anything! get rid of mr turtle sitting on your engine...

Maybe take the mud flaps off... unless you like them that is

I'm not sure about the tips i do believe they are the standard ones that came with the car?

Yeah Mr Turtle is coming off too, planning on buying a plain white two-piece cover and airbrushing it. Not sure about the mud flaps as i live in the country, I'll see how dirty it gets.

I went to put a mate's 19's on it today and realised they didn't give me the locknut key when they sold me the car

Ok just an update on the red stocker... shes got the turtle shell cover off, rocking a new red two-piece 'LS1' cover. Also have an X-Force 2 1/2 inch cat-back with hot dogs in the shed and Pacemaker 4-into-1's on the way... will probably have them on in 2 weeks. Then it will be sound system install, some body work and a tune before christmas.

Make sure you get an OTR too before the tune

Wow... I will be happy with 220 at the wheels. Looks like i will be up to a similar stage as you (besides the plugs) so will be interesting to see.

Just an update

I haven't posted for ages because I've been flat out investing which means not much spare cash for upgrades.

I finally got my exhaust and headers put on. Sounds so much better and not too loud on the highway either. Throttle is so much more responsive with the new headers. It feels like I'm driving a different car.

The stainless steel looked nice but its filthy already. Whats with this summer rain????!

Car ran 12.9 at 171km/h with huge clutch issues. No hard launches whatsoever; it just slips otherwise. 0-100 time of 5.94

Ran against VY SS with same mods as me plus OTR and MAFless and a good clutch and he ran 12.4 at 190km/h
