Calais Leather console lid
The Blue One
ah ha! thats the setup i want! well done lad!are the lights near the jesus bars supose to be blue?
Ahh those blue LED's look sweet as Paul!!
Definatley have to do the same to mine.. did you do the main front light in blue aswell? and just leave the 'spot lights' white??
Are those globes you got bright enough?? they look to be in the photo's.. were they ebay jobs, or like supercheap??
Thanx, Walt
Yep, i thought blue led's all around would make it had to read stuff at night.
Cheers bud,
Nah, front map lights are white led's but they look light blue.
There brighter than standard obviously & yes i got em off ebay.
What i like about the Calais map light assembly, is the ability to turn each light on/off individually![]()
The Blue One
Nice!! does the calais light have dual bulbs in each side? if ya get me? like one for the spotlights, and one for the mains?
I just looked at my one, and with the door open, when you push the spot light on, it seems to go a bit brighter, but couldn't really see how many bulbs were in there?? -- with out pulling it down..
I wanted the Calais one? cause it was Black!! lol, to match the rest of the interior... Its an added bonus that it has the additional 'spotties' function!
Its just a single bulb, or in my case a Led.
I haven't tried mine with the light on then pressing the button. Might give it a go see if it gets brighter!
Just get on ebay & run a search for VZ interior, you should find a few black ones, i got mine for $27 from Motorfield Direct (NVU).
The Blue One
Hey nice job on the lights! It creates a completely different environment in the car hey. When I changed mine I found that it certainly brightens up the interior and gets the occasional compliment or two :P Makes the car look just that bit more luxurious.
Question on the dash lights, how much did it cost to get it converted. Was it by phreddy?
^^^ Yep Phreddy did it. Lights & program of cluster $145.
Thats for a L4 cluster, L3 might be abit cheaper.
The Blue One
Ahh spewing, would've liked it to be two bulbs/led lights in there.. Oh well!!
Yeah I already have one, it already came with the lights, so I fitted it without looking, I changed over the roof lining to a VZ one to get rid of the 'centre' light that the VY's have..
Think I got it for around the $35 mark, posted.. not sure where from though, through ebay..
Great improvement I rekon!!
Keep the mods coming, you're giving me ideas!! lol,
Hey all,
Just took some pics of the car after a wash
Enjoy!
The Blue One
very nice mate...tis come up a treat. love the W? instrument cluster. all u need now is calais/SSheadlights like my baby and the pedals
Looking good Paul, nice and shiney!! lol,
Damm I miss a nice paint job ey, lol, just cleaned the indside of mine out today aswell, detailed the boot n all!!
Looking goood!!
Just curious, what products do you wash with?
Thanx 4 the comments boys,
Baracuda, Prob get SS lights next year sometime. Im going overseas in a few weeks, so i need every penny.
Zuessy, i got it detailed about a month ago, the paint had swirl marks in it, the water beaded but after u washed it u could see the marks.
Not any more as u can gather by the pics.
Kal123, i use Armour all Wash n wax. Then a good chamois after that.
Just go to Repco, cost is around $8 its a blue liquid.
The Blue One
Wow the car looks great! Not usually a fan of colours on cars, but that blue comes out really nice looks awesome! Gotta love Wash'n'Wax always does the trick!
Just with the swirl marks... my paints in really good condition, but when you park it in the sun, being a black car, the reflection of the sun shows some very very light swirl marks and scratches just from the previous owners washing id imagine. Is this what you had? I got a quote from a paint specialist and he reckons that he'll do a complete buff and polish, and paint sealant or something for $295 and it will make the paint flawless. Just curious if this is similar to what you had done, becuase I'm a bit suspicious... It doesnt really need it just thought it could be a good thing down the road.
looks the goods
Yeah thats the same situation i had but the swirl marks where everywhere no matter where u look, they continued down about 2-3in from the bottom of the windows, the bonnet & boot line.
That sounds a reasonable price but try to find a car salon, where they specialize mainly in car detailing. Thats where i went.
Its best to get it done sooner rather than later, as the paint could suffer if left untreated.

Well after being in the US & Canada for a while & catching up on work ova the last 4 weeks im back to modding the car.
Quick list of what i'd like to complete by the end of the year:
Black interior sunvisors (already bought) require roof loom for visor lights to work
175 Alloytech intake pipe (190 has baffling)
repaint bonnet protector
Getting Phreddied foot well lights (blue of course)
Installing sound system
HSV Airbox
Install 3.08:1 diff (this has been waiting around since May)
