bought an optima d35 battery for the clubby today, hopefully will never have any hassles with battery again. the old battery was starting to show its age, plates were all sulfured and warped; couldn't spend more than 30mins detailing the inside of car without radio killing the stock battery.

doubtful, cant see my spiral bound, glass mat separated, pure lead, tightly compressed celled, optima battery being much more than 16.6Kg being any sort of disadvantage :P
in fact it probably produces a better crisper spark, through my red leads hehe

you shouldn't need to pay more than 400 for one, which is fairly costly, but considering every time i have replaced battery's in my other cars, i always get warranty+1 day use out of them lol, thought i would go with something people seem to get 5-10+ years out of.

anyone have ideas on if i should replace the negative terminal to chassis lead or anything, while i am ripping the old battery out?

on my old mans toyotas all the terminals are painted in this blue stuff, i'm assuming its anti corrosion of some sort, is this useful stuff? where can it be purchased?

wurth brand have anti corrosion spray, its blue in colour, i would go to an auto sparky and get them to spray the anti corrosion spray on it. save buying a full can and usin two squirts out of it.

yeah as dvsv8 said, its a spray that forms a plastic alomst latex looking film over the terminal, personally it wouldnt be worth buying a whole can for as its not the type of thing you need to top up or anything,
even spraying wd40 seems to do some good, basicly anything that forms a layer over the terminal, to keep water etc away from it, ive even used motorbike chain lube, that stuff worked real good, or has so far anyway, only problem it it doesnt really dry so dust sticks to it

had no prob jump starting me when mine died on the last cruise the damn thing lol,

lucky i have things like jumper cables crammed around my spare wheel always comes in handy for those situations, i don't recall if you bought me a cold pint for that help
