Default My VZ SV6!

Hi all, i finally got my SV6 last Thursday and have pretty much been driving it around non-stop.
I'm really happy with it...i will post a few pics up when i got home but im at tafe atm int eh computer room coz i forgot we didn't have class this morning

Anyway, it's a great car-cheers all for giving advice along the way! It's an '05 Impulse Blue sv6 and so far i haven't done anything to it.

Unfortunately for me, on my first day of driving it to work some lovely customer mustn't be so good at parking and knocked my right side mirror and cracked the plastic at the bottom At least no glass was broken but it just looks a little average.
The car has some very minor scratches which i'll buff out and the front spoiler is slightly damaged but thats to be expected i guess.

All in all i think its a great car and a massive step forward from my previous go kart

cheers!

Got any mods planned?

Nah thats kool mate, in the end it was $17800 inc. a 3 yr warranty

Thats my plan! Big wash on Wednesday and photos to follow.

I plan on putting in some speakers and a sub/amp from my old car-im just having trouble deciding what to do...

i have:
- a pair of 6" kicker splits
- a pair of 6x9 460 watt pioneer speakers
- 12" kicker sub
- clarion amp
- bluetooth pioneer head unit

I could use any combination of those, and could run it exactly the same as in my old car but i really like the in-dash cd unit set-up. So i was thinking of phreddy's mod, but i live in melbourne..
But im not sure if the stock unit could handle the power from the speakers!

Other than that possibly zaust it, but i gotta see how the money situation is.

If anyone has any advice on my sound system dilemma feel free to chip in

I haven't posted in my thread for ages, but i have afew questions to ask about my car

At the moment im shopping for some rims and thats about all i'll do to the for a while, but even then i might not get around to it.

I have done the sound system but i decided to keep the stock head unit which im glad i did but the quality isn't that great.

I also want to get some touch up paint form holden to fix up a few dings and scratches and especially the gash on the front spoiler, but im not sure how i'll go about that one just yet.

By the way, if you can see from the photo that there is a square hole from where the towbar should be, there is no plastic cover like ive seen on other people cars; does anyone know where i can get a hold of one? Cheers!

I have taken some photos of the car lately but they haven't been int he greatest light, so next time i give it a wash which will be pretty soon ill take some snaps.

when you go to your holden dealer to get paint, ask em for the tow hitch cover and they should have one in stock, shouldnt be too bad with the price.

Nice car mate. Just been looking for a VZ myself but had my heart set on a VZ Calais. My second choice was an SV6. Nice looking car. I ended up finding my Calais after searching car yards all day (only found one which I ended up buying). I like the colour you got as well. Let us know how you go with the touch up paint because I wouldn't mind getting some either. Did you remove the towbar? If so, can you do it without removing the rear bumper? If so I might do it to mine. Looks like you got a good buy. Enjoy.

Thanks for the replies! I'll give that a go DV.

And hingo, the car came without a tow bar so i can't help you there, sorry-but im pretty sure i heard somewhere around here that you do have to take the bumper off.

I also was tossing between the Calais, but i pretty much had my heart set on the sv6 form the start. Thanks for your kind words it is an amazing car to drive, not unlike yours im sure! Will keep you updated on the touch up etc.

Does anyone in here have experience with fixing body kits at all?

As i said before i want to fix up a few scratches and stuff, but they can wait as they aren't as attention grabbing as the gash in the body kit as you can see below:

The person i bought it off "fixed" it but it wasn't done properly, instead of lining up the split properly it was pretty much just painted over, and because it wasn't done properly a lot of the paint has now come off.

Does anyone have any suggestions of tools and product i could use to fix it properly?

Cheers guys I don't think i can afford a professional right now, im still sorting out he audio problems..
