Here's my VZ, picked this up October 2008 after moving on from my burgundy VT.


Car: 05 VZ Exec

Drivetrain: V6 auto

Colour: Dark blue

Mods so far:

• Boot spoiler
• VY SS wheels
• Berlina instrument cluster
• Debadged
• Lowered
• Stereo
• Dash surrounds painted metallic gloss black
• Red and white LED dash mod
• Statesman leather shifter and handbrake cover
• Satin door handles
• Exhaust tip

Rears: stock (faded out)
Speaker amp: Eclipse EA4100
Sub: Boston G5 12" Dual 4ohm

Doesn't really show up too well in the photos, but it sits fairly low now. Would like the rear slightly lower to be honest but its not too bad now and means I don't get picked on.

Further down the track I reckon I'll go for the calais kit, nice subtle change. Not gonna happen for a while tho, got a big list of things to do to it beforehand

tried to get a picture of the cluster at night but unfortunately the phone camera didnt deliver. This is the best effort I could get:


Needles are actually white in this one. Might get a daytime pic tomorrow too.
If I get some time I've got some LEDs here to get rid of the green. Not sure whether to go red or white or a combination of both?

i like the sounds of more dynamat lol its gd stuff and really works i have use three bulk packs so far in my car:P but yeah nice colour

im loving the cluster hey. So much better than the exec dash its not funny. Got a daytime photo of it ill upload tonight.

Still got the VT, I've reverted it back to stock and now just need to give it a detail before it goes on the market. The VZ is an infinitely better car though, I really didn't like that VT.

Little bit of an update:
Got the brakes replaced this week and decided to get it lowered at the same time, sits a hell of a lot better now. Will get some pictures soon.

Also got rid of the towbar as i never use it

Finally, ordered a new amp in today! Eclipse ea4100, matches my xa1000 nicely. Hopefully if I get some time I'll get a nice basic boot install sorted soon.

Next up, might think about replacing the mags if something comes up at the right price.

New amp finally showed up today, can't wait to get it all installed. Going to mount them up against eachother like in the pic below:



Also been on the look out for a new set of wheels... unfortunately the ones I'm after no one seems to stock at less than 4k. No way I'm paying that much for rims. Looking for either WM Grange (pictured), VZ Senator, or VZ GTO. Anyone selling any?

Ordered one of these today.. can't wait to get it up and running!

Starting the stereo install tomorrow, hopefully will get it knocked off over the weekend.

Good call on the rims Bezz. Ive been looking for some VZ Senators for my Calais for a long time and cant find any at the right price.

Finally got my sub enclosure today. Test fitted in the car and it looks fantastic, almost factory. Will fit it all this weekend.

hey mate car looks good, i recently got my vz lowerd with a 50mm drop on kings and got shortened shocks..not extremely noticeable that its been lowerd but the stock 17's sit lower in the guard so im happy and it drives better..anyways just a quick question about your sub enclosure..does it fit in the back corner of your boot and has it been moulded specifcally for your boot or can you buy them from a audio shop made to fit commodores? price too would be good

Cheers for the kind words on the car, yours sounds good too!

Yea i think my car has dropped about as much as yours did.. looks good on the front but still want it a bit lower in the back. I agree the handling is a lot better now, albeit a lot bumpier!

As for the enclosure, it fits snugly in the corner behind the RHS tail light, its been moulded specifically for that corner. Looks almost factory I bought it off ebay, seller is seductive-sounds, paid about $130 plus postage. The build quality on this thing is exceptional and well worth the price in my opinion. Just be sure the sub you are using runs ok using a sealed 30L enclosure.

So I got some free time and decided to start on doing the dash LED conversion. After a bit of rooting around I'm about 1/3 through. Progress pics so far:





Obviously I'm not happy with the headlight switch, hence why its hanging out of the socket. Also still have to do the shifter and the cluster. I'm actually looking forward to doing the cluster as I much prefer smd soldering, beats stuffing around with angling on the other LEDs.

I'm thinking of making the cluster white with red needles, and with the shifter I'll replace all the green with white, including the power button (already done the power window switches white)/

My dad had some paint left over that he wanted to get rid of so ended up spraying my dash surrounds for me. Gloss black with a slight metallic flake. Came out really nice, going to get him do the door air vent surrounds next. I'll go get some photos when it stops raining...

lookin good there bezz the red definatly sets off the head unit nicely well done. Is that sub box a prefab 1? wat did that set u back? looks tidy.
