Default VY II S Supercharged - What to do?

Hi guys,

Long time reader, first time poster here.

I've recently come into possession of a 2004 VY II S factory supercharged.
I've got the following modifications:

Modifications

Engine
- 10 PSI pulley upgrade
- CAI

Exhaust
- Full exhaust - 2.5" twin w/ extractors

Audio
Soundstream 500W Amp
Soundstream sub (really can't remember the wattage? Heh)
6" Soundstream speakers all round

Other
Lowered 2"
19" HP Rims
Generic boost and voltage gauges

Future modifications
In car PC (hoping to write a 'How-to' if it all goes smoothly)
1.95:1 YT Roller Rockers
W2A Intercooler
13 PSI Pulley
Monaro bonnet

I can't say I'm awfully mechanically minded, but I am getting there. SO, I'm wondering what I should do with the car next?
I've been doing some research and have discovered that perhaps 1.9:1 roller rockers and a larger throttle body may be the next step? If so, where would be the best place to obtain these products from?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Lookin very nice. The rockers are a good idea but i think the best ones are the 1.9/1.95:1 ratio. Probably best to ask someone else who has done it before but you get them from YT.

Thanks for the feedback DUK13Y.

I was quoted $600 - $800 to have the rockers installed (parts not supplied). This seems a little steep? Or is this what I should be expecting to pay?

The mechanic had told me that it's an all day job. I really don't know if he's trying to rip me off. :\
Can anyone back that up?

Also, can anyone recommend any other performance enhancements for the car?

Nice car mate. Forget the throttle body, your car is auto and will need a tune with the tb plus you aren't flowing enough intake iar to utilise one.

I've had YT rockers 1.9in 1.95 ex on my L67 and they are really good with a nice fatten up of the power curve all over.

Any more than $200 for an install is ludicrous, $300 max. I'm tipping that at that price the mechanic hasn't done them b4 and is allowing for lost time.

At you stage of mods the best bet is to decide if a cam is on the horizon or not. If not, fit the rockers but if a cam may be on the cards then the rockers will be useless to you then because the ratio will be too high with a cam. Have you checked out www.l67torque.com • Index page ? L67 specific aussie forum with plenty of help there

mate i would go a intercooler. the money might seem alot, but when you put it into perpestive of what you can then do because of the cooler, i think it is more than worth it.

chargedvx6, I will certainly obtain a few more quotes to have the rockers installed. I thought the price I was quoted was quite high. Thanks for the feedback. I'll check out that forum, too. Cheers.

I was considering an intercooler. But I thought that it may not be a massive advantage since I'm only running 10~psi. Do you think that it'd be a wise investment? If so, where would be the best place to buy one from? How much would I be looking at for the unit and installation?

TroyRulz007, I got my P's before the rules came in. I've been able to get my full license for quite some time now, I've just really lacked the motivation.

You can go Air to Air or Water to Air both of which have their merits. A2A gives you a dirty bid front mount cooler which is more showy than the W2As' alloy radiator which still looks really trick.

Some people have a little trouble tuning the A2A whereas the W2A is fool proof on the tune if installed correctly.

A2A set ups are rare as the company pioneering them in AUS dropped the production (FIT) I think but W2A has a few choices out there now. Yella Terra, Mace, and even FIT

If you fit a cooler you will need a smaller pulley because the cooler air takes up less space so then the charger has to spin faster to do its' thing. No probs there, the R&D has been done, they r bolt on kits, no headaches.

chargedvx6, thanks once again for the info. That was a real help.
I guess I'll make to do some more research and see which type of intercooler is best suited for me.
I'm currently running an 86mm (10~psi) pulley. Would anything else have to be upgraded/changed if I were to go to 79mm (13~psi) ?
Should it, once again, simply be a matter of swapping over the pulley?

Stock leads are very good but make sure plugs are good and a heat range cooler to cope with the boost. Fresh fuel filter and injector service can do wonders too. Good CAI and it should go really really well with those mods.

There's a group buy on l67torque ATM. Not my preference but the Mace cooler is at a discount.
