Nice first car mate. I'll be gettin one mid next year in black. They are a very nice car. I'd just paint the wheel spokes myself. Not hard to do and if you stuff it you can either sand it down and start again or just buy the new spokes after that.

Very nice car very clean mate!
Thanks guys
True. I was considering just applying some fake carbon fibre vinyl i had lying around but even that stuff doesn't wear too well. The satin chrome ones will match the door handles. ~$40 off ebay if my memory serves me right and they should take decades to wear out![]()
New rubber:
225/55R16 Bridgestone Adrenalins. Much better then the standard tyres (215/60 ER30s). Surprisingly they are just as quiet if not even quieter then the ER30, and the ride is about the same too. Not much more dough either, $235 vs $188.
Also i'm part way through assembling a line in/out radio kit from Phreddy:
Just needs a few more components here and there![]()

Sounds good mate. I'm currently trying to set up my berlina for Phreddies dash goodies. Can't wait.

Haven't got a quote yet but it'll be a few hundred.
I'm getting all the dash done (dash, cluster, shifter lights, headunit, climate control, etc) and all the window switches and the T/C and PWR buttons done. Might have missed some stuff but you get the idea. Basically every light bar the map lights, footwell lights, etc. I'm getting the morphing needles done too![]()

OK, ta. I'll check with you later on to see how it went.
And, to the OP, nice clean unit. No doubt about it, Berlinas and Calais look brilliant in black. Terrific start for a great streeter.
looks good mate
Cheers guys.
One step closer to world domination:
Hopefully i haven't cocked up anything.![]()

Just finished the installation. Everything works perfectly
Line outputs (also discovered a Nokia handsfree kit in here which i cbf removing):
Aux switch + input socket:
Autos usually have a rubber blanking trim here, so i need to buy the plastic surround and blanking buttons from Holden. I'll probably mount the input socket inside the center console storage bin eventually![]()

love the line in idea
whats the price Phreddy flogging them for?
i payed ~$140 posted for the bare kit (as in post #5 of this thread except the components aren't soldered to the pcb) including the factory style button. I think Phreddy's prices have gone up a little bit since I bought my kit.
So my shifter looked sad like this:
then I did this:
many expletives later it looked like this:
New satin chrome insert, new button and new shift boot.
I also got the trims for around the aux button,
And some satin chrome steering wheel spokes, but i'm going to buy a brand new steering wheel first (airbag has to come off anyway for the spokes)

this came todayBrand new so the leather is nice and matte (compare it to the 7 year old leather wheel in the first post)
Manufacture date, 2003 - sure has been sitting in it's box for a while

Great looking car mate! How does the stereo sound?

Way better then stock. The amp made the biggest difference. Still needs a sub to fill in the low end - the door speakers only go down to about 50hz and are very sloppy at that frequency.![]()
Very nice. I like the fact you've opted to spend your hard earned on keeping it original and neat/tidy. Great idea and sets your Berlina apart from the usul 'commomwhore' crowd. Kudos.
VZ Calais + 690 KTM = Happiest bloke on earth.
haha yeah i can imagine.. did you set them to 50hz just for the moment because of no sub?

Today I made a board to mount my amp/x-overs to the bottom of the parcel shelf. Just have to bolt it up and plug everything in
