well this is the new ute
picked it up today for $10,500 with rims and spring
traded in the tata as the head and turbo was just about gone
although it does have 275,000km on the clock

bit ruff but ill tidy it up
getting polished next week and guards need rolling
repaint the dash trim as they have marks and stains on them
need to fix a little dent on the left guard

and thats it

it looks like crap sean take out the springs and put stock in ill get rid of the lowerd springs for you

Had a quick look last night, looked like it was in good nick. Nice ute mate.

well serviced it today
new oil and filter
new plugs
new air filter
detailed the interior
currently polishing it (pics before polished)


the dash surrounds has a few scratch marks and a air freshner stain
so i will take them off at some stage and prime them then paint them
thinking either gun metal grey or black
thoughts>opinons......?

also going to get seat throw over covers eventually

still to remove number plate surrounds
take the Lh splash sheild out and push the dent out with out cracking it
take head light protectors off and clean them.

For the interior I rekon gun metal grey.. with a nice coarse flake in it, loads of clear too...

Are the door trims faded/marked where my arm normally rests up the top??
How can you fix that if they are? a good clean or something?

And maybe a quick detail in the engine bay!! a bit dusty in there...

But all in all a real nice ute.. did you end up selling the VL??

yer im leaning towards gun metal grey but satin,
when my mate painted a mates vx surround with ppg clear it was too shiney and causing too much glare

nah the door trim up top in that pic isnt worn it just the angle of the pic which is giving the worn effect,
yer engine is clean now, looks better then the dusty effect but hey should see the vs's motor now thats dirty a little

ill get a pic soon now that the out side is all clean and what not

this was a replacement for for my tata ute which had a blown head and turbo on its way out
traded it in plus $10,500 for this ute, not bad fine and price

Ahh ok, good point with the glare, didnt think of that, a satin would still look the part but..
Bloody pics have a way of stuffing around with the looks of things hey, thats good its not faded, (havent seen any newer commy that they have but...)

Cool you got the engine bay clean, as I was writing the message, I was thinking my engine bay probly looks dirtier than that!! did it a while back, but will most likely need another go over next service.. or when I can be bothered!

Thats good to hear the VL aint going anywhere soon/ever.. like my VH, I have big plans to build it up to a nice hopefully daily streeter.. when the cash permits..
Im going to have to check out your build up/thread on the VL looks like a beast,

And damm thats a nice price!! if I could find one that cheap I'd swap/trade + cash the sedan!!

well polished the car today,
mate left his buff so it was so much easyer

cutted it back with 3M fine cut and then went over it with Farecla wax top
looks so much better now
smoother paint and all fall out is gone
no pics though, bassicaly just shiner now

tomorrow ill get it wheel aligned if the shops free and then thats it for a while
besides the cluster surrounds

yer the bays alot better now

that pic was saturday morning, the windscreen was put in friday night so was still drying

yer red heeler (aussie cattle dog) yer the best natured dogs, smart as hell and very loyal to the pack (family)


also forgot the number plate surrounds are off and the headlight lens are clean
thinking about taking my philips cryistal vision 6000K globes out of the vs and chucking them in the ute, not sure yet though

said to me ill be driving this most the time as the vs is cheaper to get to work for him

looked through the rims yesterday at the spring and noticed a print on them SSL
assuming Super super low king springs they are

yer what springs have you got kings or what? coz I have kings SSL on 19's and it's no where near tucking tyre. Actually whats the part no.? KHRL 127SSL or KHRL 46SSL?
