    Default Batteries

    Hi all,

My Battery has just died (its still the original one from when the car was new) and I was wondering what the best alternative would be. I know Century make good batteries but was wondering if there were any other alternatives out there?

    Thanks

    Sean

from what i understand the yellows are really good for people that have show cars and what not, that have big stereos running all day, and 4x4s with lights and fridges and what not, hence the deep cycle part of the battery,

i believe also deep cycle batteries dont always respond well to alot of cranking, short trips and what not, they like to be charged up to max and drained down, recharged to max again kind of thing

in saying that though, i know those batteries are good but i havnt researched them much, will have a look now

but honestly, unless you have a sound off car or what not, its way to much overkill for a standard commo at the price they are, supercharge golds are 130 bucks

ok after reading the tech sheet, there is a recharge procedure that isnt really practical for most people, to keep the batter at a high charge, so i still stand by my comment above, ^^^hehe, probably not the ideal battery for a standard commo

I did read that those batteries are more suited to cars with big stereos & 4wds with fridges, driving lights etc....

It sounded like a good idea at the time

    Paul,

They are a good battery. Have a D34 in my VN for the last 5-6 years. I was doing a lot of country driving at the time and hence have over 750 watts of light on the front.

Last a lot longer than standard wet batteries, up to 8-10 years, so the price outlay to start with may be more but in the long run, works out cheaper than standard batteries over the same time.

Hence the reason for the yellow top.
