Im sure this has been covered before but..
started my car up the last few days and have been getting a noise from what i think is under the bonnet. its the same kinda sound that u get when u are turning on full lock, kind a screeching sound. the sound gets louder up until 2000 revs.
is this because its cold or might there be a slipping of a belt??
Have u checked ur pwr steering fluid level?
The Blue One
i haven't but the noise starts when the car does before i even turn the wheel thats y i thought it might be a belt
Adjust the idler pulley, that might stop the noise!
The Blue One
Idler pulley is non adjustable.
Check PS fluid level.
If its ok, remove drive belt.
Spin all accessorie pulleys by hand to
check for excessive run-out or binding.
Also check drive belt for wear.
If all else fails you can clean the inside of the drive
belt with soapy water. A bit anal I know but
you will be surprised how much crap it attracts.
how about the fan belt??? it may be lose![]()
