hey everyone, i just recently purchased a VZ SSZ... or did i? my car has the ssz badges on it however it doesn't seem to have ALL of the SSZ features. i rang the dealer that i bought it from and gave them the VIN. they told me that my car is an SS with an options package and they also tell me that the ssz WAS just an ss with options. however as my car doesn't have everything the ssz had, for example it doesn't have the dash mounted guages and it doesn't have SSZ written on the seats or main guages... i'm just wondering if anybody can tell me if there was maybe some people that may have ordered an ssz without every single option or maybe the original owner just bought an ss and put the ssz badges on it? if anybody can give me any little details as to how i can find out if it really is an ssz that would be awesome... it's confusing the heck out of me and the dealer isn't helping much. also, if someone does know a bit, could they maybe post an answer on here and send the same info in an e-mail for me as i do shift work and may not be able to answer straight away. my email address is godzilla_42@hotmail.com
uhhh. if you could pick out options in an ssz. why would they make it in the first place. well if the dealer said it was a SS then its a SS =D haha and nobody would go through all that trouble and take out everything
Hit the star under this post if it was any help to you =D
id say its just an SS and the guy bought a new badge for it

only thing u gotta ask urself is, is did the dealership sell it to u as an SS or an SSV and what the price difference between the two are, but yeah sounds like u got an ss with a different badge
It's an SS. The binnacle gauges and cluster facia were never options on the SSZ, they were just standard.
You should also have SSZ stitched leather seats if it's real, and some other bits and bobs like bluetooth and park assist.

yup with the SSZ logo in em ...
sounds like the salesmans confused too
ah perhaps I am
I thought SSZ had the logo in them too but perhaps it was just the CV8Z which is used to make them more special
I'll shut up now![]()
If it was marketed to you as an SSZ then id be taking the matter further..
I'd have to agree with the others on this thread - if you purchased the car from a dealer and it was advertised and represented as something it is not, they might be subject to action under whatever State laws apply for false advertising. However, as you purchased the car and apparently were satisifed with the transaction, it may also be that you are buggered and will just have to llive with the car as it is without redress.
If you are a member of a motoring organisation such as the NRMA, they have a legal section which provides advice free of charge to members on motoring laws etc. Might be worth giving them a go.
thanks for all that guys. i have to agree with most of u that it probably is just an ss with different badges. and yes it was advertised to me as an ssz however the price was cheaper than another vz ss there so i'm not too worried. plus the other one was all standard and mine has the basic intake/exhaust/wheels already done. i understand that what they did was technically illegal however i'm happy so i don't really wanna do anything
If you're happy just let it be, dealers are absolute ****s to deal with, and unless you're really bothered just cut and run and enjoy the car![]()

I have a VZ SS Thunder Ute and as far as holden is concerned it is just an SS with an options pakage.
The SSZ actually has it's own code in the Holden program. I looked one up and it comes up as an SS but amongst the option codes (trim, paint and options etc.) it will have a code for the SSZ. The thunder may be the same, I'll have a look at it when I go back to work and see if there a code for it.
hey buddy I have a genuine vz ssz and if you got sold a ss claiming to be a ssz then i would be spewing big time! May I ask what you paid for it? I paid $26 990 for mine about 1 year ago, had 70,000kms and had 5years holden certified used car warranty. Basically the ssz came out with $6000 worth of extra's
- red ssz hi-performance pbr brakes
- bluetooth hands free
- reverse parking sensors
- ssz embossed front seats
- ssz instrument cluster
- monaro volt and oil pressure gauges
- ssz badging
- 5 x 18 inch vz monaro wheels
hope this helps mate, and if your happy with your car well thats great! I just would be a bit pissed off at the dealer for false advertising....![]()
