Yes, pacemaker's will change the note quite a bit. It will give it a much deeper/nicer note..

Yes, Pacemaker headers have been known to change the note on any setup, including stock.

Though with yours it might just cause a deeper snap crackle pop. But it's your setup mate.

I'm looking at doing my exhaust and I gotta say that while choosing headers seems pretty clear cut, getting the right exhaust setup that's not too loud and doesn't sound like a fart seems like the trick.

I have heard you should not use mild steel for the headers
because this can contaminate the cats.
    Is this true?
Heard the same for exhausts also.

Certain metals at high temperatures can release amounts of different gases. This could contribute to it? I'm not sure, but just maybe.

Yeah I got quoted $1040 today.

I'm still yet to decide on the cat back: do I go for single 2.5 or twin 2.25?

The single will give me better torque, the twin will give me better power what to do, what to do, what to do!!!

Afew years back i had pacemaker extractors fitted to a 6cylinder i had while retaining the stock exhaust and it made NO difference in noise.
Also if you are going to get them ceramic coated save some pennies for o2 sensors,i had ceramic coated pacies fitted to my 6 litre and the coatings damaged my o2 sensors, upon doing a search afterwards i found this to be a common problem.

Mild steel is cheaper and rusts easier. A mild steel exhaust will last you FAR less amount of time than a stainless steel system.
