has anyone officially wired up a switch for thermo fans to be bypassed iv heard of earlier models being done but nothing as yet in the vz range?any help/diagrams would be great.also looking for the a/f or o2 sensor wire.thanks![]()
it can be done just not the same way as doing older VT/vx with ecu wiring
just need a relay and a switch and some time
any further info?im keen on it.thanks
find the main feed to thermo fans under bonnet and trigger it with a relay
then run wires into dash and place a switch somewhere
most auto elects can do this for you
or
get ecu rewritten costly but good get tune at same time
my ecu has been modded to turn fans on sooner but i also run a switch so can keep it very cool
ive read somewhere that you have to be carefull with the thermo fans comming on to early.
The motor needs a cretain temp to be efficient and non wearing.
Cold motors chew fuel

You can get a lot farther with a kind word and a gun than a kind word alone
i only put it on when in peak hr traffic or its really hot or making the car work hard
but since Ive had ecu rewritten i don't use it much now days
i also use the digital dash to see temp at all times and 88o is perfect temp to be at if on freeway with switch on it will go down bit to low into 70's bit to cold
you got the 5.0L daron 88 is perfect on them.3.8 should be around 91 degrees to make sure all warmup settings are off
I tune the oldschool way fear on the passengers face and knuckle colour cant go wrong
tabbacco is still my favorite vegetable
i just want it for when im stuck in traffic hate seeing the temp go up and down..any success in the vz range with a override switch yet?
its not really getting much hotter it only goes up about 10-15 degrees before the fan kicks in just looks like lots on the guage
I tune the oldschool way fear on the passengers face and knuckle colour cant go wrong

As long as its within operating temp I'm not sure what the problem is? As mentioned a cold engine can be a bad thing too.

fair enough. i just wasnt sure because it used to be in the 80's
mines pretty much the same - low 90's
Even the track day in January, 38 odd degree day it only hovered around 100 when sitting idle, I think the second high powered fan only kicked in once or twice the whole day just after lunch and obviously track day = flogging the car
