can't get horn beep when doors not closed

Hi,

Just got a 2007 VZ Commodore Wagon Acclaim.

We are VERY frustrated with the fact that we can't get the horn to beep when we lock the car and one door is still open. It just locks the doors that are closed, driving us nuts as we have to check each door to double check ourselves...

Have looked in the manual and can't work it out.

As far as i know mate, the beep was only offerred on upper spec models (Calais, Statesman etc.)
The Acclaim should, however, have it programmed to flash the indicators again when the car suspects the door isn't locked.
I'm sure they didn't change it, as my VS and Dad's VT are the same. Here's a simple key;

LOCKING
1 short flash: Locked
1 longer flash (approx 3 sec) AFTER 1 short flash: deadlocked
1 short flash followed by a second, shorter flash (or anything that doesn't signify deadlock, cant remember the sequence): Unlocked, fault with one of the door locks, door is open etc

Also, I'm not sure if other models do this, but if a passanger door is open when i lock the car, the doors still lock and just need to be pushed shut. Just have a look next time you need to do it bud.

Put key in ignition, turn to the ON pos
Watching the display screen wait for confirmation to enter options menu
press up or down arrow, then press mode,
keep pressing mode until u reach door lock indiction. There is either the option of indicators or indicators/horn when u lock the car. This is the one ur after.

I have a VZ lumina.

I beep means locked (1 flash as well)
2 and it will deadlock (1 longer flash)
3 really quick beeps when the front passenger door is open and they wont lock
will lock when back doors are open but alarm/deadlock will not unless every thing is shut.
