Default Crewman S VZ Lowering & putting 19/20's - questions about changes to ride & loading.

Hey all. Just looking at putting new wheels (18,19 or 20's havn't decided on size yet) & then lowering it. Just want a bit of feedback on how much it will effect the ride (smoothness and handling). Also just wondering how lowering will effect the loading capacity as I need to carry 800-1000kg at times. Thanks in advance.

if you want to carry loads still, the major factor is getting load rated wheels, not many people know but all the mini trucks, ute etc, with chromies big wheels and what not, can be defected for having them, and regos checks technically shouldnt be passed with them on,

another problem being if you lower the suspension, if you want to carry loads, you will have to get really firm leafs, as they will sag with loads on them lowered

Cheers andyman. I knew about the need for load rated wheels but am a complete newbie when it comes to lowering. Its a work ute so I need it to all be by the book for insurance purposes. So, load rated wheels are no problem, but spending money on decent wheels is a bit pointless without lowering...

hey tweeker, my vz ute has 20's, a smoother rider definetly, then the 17's i had.
its also got SSS'L sedan BMW King springs (low) + monroe shorter shocks.
i can guarntee u wont be able to put 1000kg in it if u go lowish
I put a yfz450 quad in myne, about 160kg all up, and it scrubs.

Im not sure wat ur into, but if u want it low and big wheels but want to carry weight.
id have to say ud probably have to airbag the rear

What size tyres you got on the ute?
I've got a VY and looking at going from 18" to 20"
    Currently got 235/40-18.
Your tires look pretty close to the guards.
