Hi all, I managed to make my battery go flat (VZ/WL Caprice) after leaving the stereo on whilst changing speakers in my car last night.
So this morning I quickly jumped the car with a new spare battery I had and off to work I went. However halfway down the road the car started to surge/misfire a bit as I tried to accelerate, and of course the dreaded Service Vehicle Soon alarm came on.
So I gingerly pushed on and after about 30 mins driving it seemed to right itself with no more misfiring (although SVS alert was still blaring at me). It also started fine again after I had switched it off.
My 2 questions are:
1) can a flat battery cause this surging while it's recharging itself (immediately after a jumpstart)?
2) can a flat battery cause the SVS alert to come on? (If so how can I get rid of that SVS alert to see if it comes back on - assuming it was caused by the flat battery)?
Any info much appreciated!!

oh and as for your first Q was the battery fully charged?

Don't think the battery was fully charged because the misfire got better the longer I drove it. Anyway after a set of plugs and leads (car was due for them) it's all gone away. Infact it's even smoother than before. Cleared all the SVS alerts while we were at it and they haven't come back (yet) either.
