My SV6 has low Ks - 66,000. Build date Sept 2004. Been quoted $1380 to replace the timing cover seal, as it is leaking. Is this fair dinkum? Spoke to a dealership mechanic, said it was a whole day job in labour and the problem is getting more common in the alloytec. Anyone had any luck with getting Holden to come to the party with some of the costs? Sounds like an engine problem that shouldn't exist in this world class engine.
If its a common problem and bearing in mind
your warranty has expired, Holden should at
least bear a portion of the repair cost.

holden didnt even warrant ours within the warranty period![]()
How much did it cost you to fix Torquative? Was it just one side or both you got done?

nah i havent had this issue, i was saying Holden never warranted anything even when it was still under warranty so good luck getting anything out of them 4 or 5 years on down the track.
Aftersales, whats aftersales?
mines got a tiny oil mark around near the alternator from the timing cover, but it hasnt grown or gotton worse in the 2 years ive owned it,
cant say ive seen many timing cover leaks on the alloytecs, they are pretty sealed up,
i service oodles of vz's and ve's and cant say ive ever come across one with even a major weep
