You won't gain anything by just replacing parts, as the PCM controls what goes on with them.
There have been improvements with a tune, but you would need to fit extractors and a bigger system to take advantage of the tune. Two cars I know of are pushing out around 220 rwhp after an exhaust and tune.
thanks, as i had thought, knew it would probably been a silly question, almost worthy of leaving to the i wonder.. just thoight bigger injectors and fuel system may of done something.. thanks guys
you only need more fuel if you motor is getting more air. eg much improved intake / cams or turbo/blower. the stock fuel system will easily keep your motor at it's desired air fuel ratio.
To gain power.......... real power. Couple of suggestions: (a few, too much on tuning to explain).
1. Hi-Flows/Cats (to start with if u wanna make more power) - so exhaust down from engine....... v6's most agree 2.25 dual run, either all the way or 3" single out.
2. Tune......... by 99% of tunes dont adjust the Optimal Torque vs Air Demand Torque tables... thats where u gain most power over all other settings tuners do. (if ur serious about wanting power up these but only slightly, on a SV6 they are already pretty high).
3. QuadPlatinum sparkies are pretty good......... Even tuned I found these to be much better, I dont actually run them myself anymore as they weren't a perfect fit compared to the standard platinums.
A tune effectively by tuners just utilises the power of the car most effectly so u actually see the power etc. Hence why most tunes only will give u like 10-30kw extra. As they only adjust things and remove things that prevent the car from making it's actual power.
As I said, adjusting Optimal Torque tables etc.......... thats where power lies. SV6's run as high as 98 on these tables tho, so u'd only wanna work on going up like .6 at most from say 30-90% throttle.
** Just my opinion after tuning my exec like 100 times+ over the past 6 months.
