    Default SVS Alarm

I'm getting a service vehicle soon alarm in my vz ss crewman whenever i'm coasting at low revs. Holden dealer said it is 'left bank lean alarm' because of the extractors and that they cant do anything about it. Anyone had a similar problem and if so any solutions?

There's been a few threads on it... most common problem seems to be a faulty oil pressure sensor. But if you've taken it to Holden and they scanned it with a Tech2 and found the "left bank lean" fault, then I'd say that's your problem :P If they didn't scan it and just took a punt at it, then have them scan it for you.

Mine is currently doing it too... comes up when I start the car and every time I stop for a moment at traffic lights/stop signs etc. From what I've read it sounds like symptoms of a faulty oil pressure sensor in mine, but I'm gonna have it scanned first to find out. My dad scanned it a couple of days ago with his scan tool but it picked up no faults... obviously needs a better scan tool or the Tech2.

yeah Holden did scan it a few times and 'left bank lean' was the fault. I was hoping there was an easy way to modify the parameters of the sensor to stop the alarm from coming up.

JBDRIFTER check the switch and if it is leaking oil around the wires for the sensor there is a very high chance it is your oil switch. it was in mine but even the tech2 didnt find the fault. $141.00 from holden for the switch and $18 for the special socket to remove it. Good luck.

Holden use to sell the oil pressure units for $140 odd dollars but i bought one this week and it was $70.40 I got mine at Surf City Holden dealership on the gold coast. That is not a trade price, it's jut the normal price now.. i'm not sure why they decided to halve the price. I got mine off with a 27mm ring spanner which is the right size for it, no problems taking it off or on. The wiring harness was full of oil so i flushed it out with turps.

Default VZ rear tyres wearing badly on the outside edges

I'm finding that the rear tyres on my vz v6 Lumina wear very badly on the outside edge, and are unroadworthy after about 8,000klms, despite having had all the wheels aligned. I have the standard 17" rims with the standard 235/45 tyres. the car has done 95,000 klms.
Would anyone have some ideas about how to remedy this problem and is anyone have similar wear problems with tyres on their vz?
