Cluster Re-Program Best Dealership To Go To In Melbourne ?

I went to my local dealership in Geelong about this getting a VZ/SS V8 Cluster re-programed to suit my VZ Wagon Executive and they were asking allot of money to do it and told me it could not be done properly for example the k's could not be put forward to match my original cluster.

I know it can be done but I would like to know which dealerships in Melbourne can do this and a rough cost to me to get it done

Thanks but prefer to go to a Holden Tech so it is done correctly have heard of guys using the wrong programes thus gauges reading incorrectly. Prefer to be safe then sorry.

Well from what I have heard it should not cost more then $100 but my local dealer was asking for $290 and told me they wouldn't be able to adjust the k's to match etc. Everyone in Geelong knows Smith Holden is a rip off when it comes to getting your Holden serviced.

everyone knows Holden is a rip off full stop. only at a dealership could you go in and pay $900 for a water pump hahaha funny story happened to a mate of mine, shit was he angry when i did mine the next week for $100

seriously just get it done at a local tuner, then chuck a gps on it to make sure its correct, they should be able to change the km aswell. i may be mistaken but the only things that should be out of whack are revs and airbag light???

Revs and Speedo look fine but the fuel gauge is not reading right when it's at half it start's moving up and down slowly and then at one point it start's telling me low fuel.

Plus I have half my menu options missing.

Called a few holden dealers...
They will clear the faults from the cluster (Airbag alert etc) for 100-300$ depending on the dealer... But none of them will take the Km's past 100k if you need to sync up the KM's.

Called a few auto electronic places, most of them said they couldn't do it and i should take it to holden...

One place wanted the car for 4 days and said that it would be upwards of 300$ p/day while they work on it.. (guess they don;t want the work).

What are they going to be doing with it for 4 days and what a nerve to ask $300 per day when they have to do maybe 30mins tops ??????????????

That's funny I called a Melbourne Holden dealer and they said they could match it but they can't turn it back cause of the laws. My SS one needs to go forward.

That's outrageous! Can't phreddy from ASR reprogram these? Seams like it'll be cheaper to go for a drive to Sydney...

I've had an offer via pm for $150 to re-program the cluster trouble is he is on the other side of the bay but might look like that I will take his offer.

I'll try giving ASR a call to see if he can do that thanks for the reminder

using VCM Suite.
Should be a quick in and out.......hopefully.

The only other place in Geelong would be Gauge Works and when I called them they said they don't do them but they post them off to Sydney and it would cost me $489 and that was the end of that.

Anyway how are you suppose to know if someone has the VCM Suite nobody advertises it ??

I will call DTM tomorrow and ask about but I'm not keeping my hopes up.

I looked that up already and the software can re-calibrate the gauges etc but no mention on re-programing the executive menu options I have sent an email message to them asking if this can be done and who can do it will wait and see if they bother to reply.

Ok got an email reply from vcm-suite.com.au and no it can't do the re-program side of the cluster as that part is controlled by the BCM.

Called DTM they might be able to but I would be looking over $300 cause the excuse is they have to buy credit from the software company's and they will pass the cost onto me. That's a joke I reckon.

Called a few places that were listed on the vcm site none do it anymore becuase of the cost involved to customers and the customers are put off by it. Ain't that true.

So it looks like I might take a trip after I have a talk with this other guy offering $150 and make sure he can do the job and not part of it or it's useless to me.

Problem is today i went to take a look its supposed to be an x fleet vehicle were buying it from a mechanic who services vehicles at this establishment it has EXACTLY 37,000 KLM on it however underbody it looks like its done many more klm that that.. so im just after some help this cluster reset business can be done? and it appears by allmost anyone at entry level automotive shops should i be suss it has exactly 37000klm,can this reset be any figure you wish or to the closest 1000klm , any help would be great thanx

Sounds way too cheap for a VZ Wagon with only 37,000K's and what's worse a mechanic is selling it. If you know how and your bad enough to do it then yes any cars clock can be put back to what you want it to be.

Personally I would steer clear of it.

Maybe drop by Vic Roads or RTA with the cars details and request confirmation of the cars K's and if it's lower then what was last recorded report the guy.
