    Default SS Headlights

Does anyone remember or know the Ebay sellers name, who was selling brand new SS Headlights for around $600?

Alternatively.. does anyone know of other sources for these headlights? Apart from Holden and their $900 pair.

    Cheers.

Cheaper to paint the ones you have.

Only difference between stock and ss is the insert is black (easily paintable and has been done many times)

I think theres even a how to on this forum.

    Not with VZ's..

Standard VZ's and SV6's have basically the same ones, just SV6's have the black border your talking about. But Calais and SS have completely different ones.

Oh wow, I only got my SV6 a couple of months ago and it just dawned on me after reading this thread that I have the SS / HSV / whatever they are ones. That's cool. They look mint on a black car too. That's made my day.

I just managed to source a pair of these off ebay for around $500 brand new. Was pretty easy to install on the SV6 and they look great

One option you could try is a company who will take your old lights in exchange for a new set of SS lights. If you call them up they should be able to give you a changeover price: Headlight & Heater

    Good luck

Do your low beams (outer lights) work when the
    high beams are on now?
If not, there is a simple mod to fix.
    I'm not afraid.

Thanks. I plan on selling the SV6 one's back on ebay anyway, they usually fetch around $200.

    Standard to SS/Calais headlight mod.

Lift off the s/wheel column cover,
disconnect the larger of the two electrical connectors
which connects to the high/low beam switch,
bridge the white/black and white wires.

I used a utilix quick connect to bridge the wires.
Your low beams will now work with the high beams.
However the flash or pass will be high beam only.

    Disclaimer.
Do not perform this mod if you still have your OEM H4 bulbs.
You may blow a fuse or ruin your lamps or worse!

lol they are allright for signal wire shit, but dont use them in wet areas cause it'll eventually damage wiring and get voltage drops, most commonly dull headlights from people using them behind the headlight to do triggers for driving lights
