Default SRS Airbag Fault + SVS Alarm

Yesterday i pulled the seats outta my SV6 to get in and give it a clean, forgetting to undo the battery i disconnected the yellow and orange wires. After reisntalling the seats/connections i started the car for it to beep at me saying 'SRS Airbag Fault' as i expected this to happen anyway. I have 'reset' the ecu by removing the negative cable of the battery and this hasnt cleared the 'fault'..

I also keep getting beeped "Service Vehicle Soon" when sitting at traffic lights and starting the car. After reading i have gathered it could be the oil pressure sender, is there any one who has corrected this problem without replacing parts?

any help would be great thanks..

You'll need to take it to a Holden dealer and get them to reset the code with a tech2.

most good workshop will have a scan tool that can remove the code, walk in there with a 6 pack and ask if they can do it

I've had the SVS warning for the past month or so... just gonna take it to someone with a scan tool when I have the time and ecpecting to have to replace the oil pressure sender. From previous posts on here that seems to be the most common fault. I don't think clearing a fault code will fix anything, especically considering it only comes up when first starting the car or when stopped and idling for a little while. If I keep my rev's up above 1k when stopped the SVS warning doesn't come up... pretty sure it's a genuine fault. Not just a simple ECU reset fix.

maybe you should keep your daft comments to yourself.. As far as i was aware tech2 indicates faults aswell, so in clearing the Airbag fault i will get it checked for the service vehicle fault..

And if it is a genuine fault as you so clearly put it why havent you got it fixed.. cant be anything too serious..

mate this is a car forum not a forum for know it all's.. unless you have a genuine post or suggestion dont bother with my threads..

from what i gathered from the mechanic from roadside assisstance it is not an oil pressure sender as the car would be throwing fault codes up at me..

    Caution.
Some information given to me by a Holden technician.
If you vehicle is displaying an SRS fault it also means
should you have an accident your air bags will not deploy.
    I'm not afraid.

"may" not deploy, i know the reason the fault has occured and it is as simple as clearing the log.. UNLESS tech2 shows other faults.. althought i wont be driving too much till i get to a dealer

thanks anywayz, would hate to die because the airbags didnt go off..

on diagnostics side, its no different to decent scan tool these days, they only give you the fault code basically, the you have real time sensor output displays etc,

its the programming side of this that makes it different

Mate do a search on SVS fault and see what you find. I was simply trying to be helpful. Yes, when you have you car scanned to clear the airbag fault they will also find the exact fault causing the SVS warning. From my research I have found that the most common cause is the oil pressure sender.

Maybe your mechanic is not familiar with VZ's... faulty oil pressure sender does throw out a fault code, which you will only find with a Tech2 or other compatible scan tool. It also causes the SVS warning, among other faults, but like I said the oil pressure sensor is the most common.

I think it is a genuine fault because it only comes up when you first start the car or when car is at idle for a short period. All other times, the warning goes away. This would also fit with an oil pressure fault.

But what do I know hey? Go get it scanned and tell us the verdict.

The SRS Sensing and Diagnostic Module (SDM) is mounted on the floor pan, and is located under the centre console directly beneath the large centre console storage compartment.
