Default Re-programing VZ Spack Ute cluster?

    Hello,

I have just purchased a 2005 VZ S-Pack ute for 12grand. Beautiful ute and in perfect condition! The only thing i need to fix is the cluster. Cluster shows 140000kms but the actual engine has only done 45000kms. So my question is can i get the existing cluster to match the kms the engine has done?

    Cheers

Im not 100% sure on this, but I've heard you can't wind Km's back...Only put them forward.

You might have to buy a new cluster with less km's, and have them brought forward.

the odometer on a car is not just for engine k's but also the whole cars k's. Its illegal to change the k's like you want to.

answer is no, but you can buy another cluster and put it in if this helps.

Id keep searching, that cluster doesn't look like its in good nic.

Try n find a 3 window cluster! Berlina, Calais or HSV. These are lvl 3
Or do what i did & get a WL statesman cluster which is lvl 4

Ok yea i wouldnt buy it as it does look in poor nick, but is that the right idea? buy one that has lower kms than my engine and then wind the kms forward?

Its got me thinking as to how the cluster has more k's than the eng for that matter!
I dont really now, the WL one that i got had 141k on it but my car had only done just under 55k but i was still able to get it reprogrammed. This was done by a guy here in Sydney.

You prob want a cluster that has similair k's to ur eng.

I can answer this 100% since I had mine done it goes like this :-

    1) Holden can not by law turn back the clocks but are allowed to move them forward to match the original k's and you must prove ownership etc.

    2) There are non Holden guys out there that can also re-programe your cluster allot are expensive and are not worth going too as there just ripping you off but you have the few who are not even thou the law still apply's to them in not turning the clock's back only forward they will still turn it back for you on the hush hush I never seen you before bases.

When u say 141k and 55k do you mean those numbers or like 141000k?

Even if the engine has only done 45k the vehicle has travelled 145k. If you were to turn the odometer back then you would be likely to deceive any future owner(s).

You can't deceive any future owners throwing a new motor in
and changing the odometer to match
as the compliance plate DOES NOT get change
and will always have the original engine no.

Thats what i was thinking rob, i mainly want it to show engine KM's for personal use not to sell.
