Default VZ & VY Front Grills

Making this post as i want a chrome grill for my wagon and it seems the only grills I can see are on the VY Berlina with the Holden logo not a chev badge.

My question is will a VY Grill fit onto my VZ ? I'm hoping it's yes but need to know 100% as I want to buy new.

youll find there be suttle diffrences and wont line up?otherwise the GTO monaro bonnet woud have fitted on me VZ. but the VZ front bar was diffrent and was sticking out in front of bonnet and not tucked in.
youll have to line the 2 grilles up and compare.

VY and VZ are different size and a different shape I very much doubt they would fit.

Probably the easiest thing for you would be to get the chrome strip that goes on the bonnet

Honestly, I didn't believe my eyes at first. I though it was a VY Crewman because you could obviously see the grill center and the lower half of the bumper looks fairly similar. But as soon as it went by me I knew it was a Ford because of 2 doors, split tub and tail lights. I have a bit of an idea on where it lives so if I see it again I'll get a photo.

Upon closer investigation it was a BF I saw, not a BA.

You can make anything fit... Just how it looks afterwards can be a difference in opinion.

The particular example I was talking about was held in by cable ties.

The answer is NO. The grille openings are totally different in dimension. It's actually amazing just how different all the VY and VZ grilles are and this post is just one of many on the same subject.

We have a VY Exec, VY Berlina and a VZ Acclaim in this household and I have checked all the dimensions to see what fits.

Basically, VY Exec and Acclaim are the same
VY I and II Berlina is unique but Calais grille will fit
VY I and II Calais is unique
VY S/SV8/SS are the same ( I think - don't have one available to check)

VZ Exec and Acclaim are same
VZ Berlina and Calais are same
VZ SV6/SS are the same (I think)

That's at least seven different grilles. VY and VZ cannot be interchanged for any versions.

I highly doubt it will fit, the size just looks too different.
But I don't know why you wanna change it anyway, I personally reckon the VZ grill looks MUCH better than the chrome one.
