glass packed straight thru resonator will sheild the sound somewhat (the rear), otherwise yea standard twin run down into a single central muffler (straight thru) to a rear glass packaged resonator........... which helps immensly, otherwise if u want a mix......... i'd recommend hunting a magnaflow twin out rear muffler........ dunno if they come in both standard and glass packed.

It's hard to get tough and drone free......

PS. I have Headers, 150cell hi-flows, 2 small glass packed resonators straight like 1 inch after the cats, straight thru single central muffler to a rear resonator (just a standard cheapy supercat) .......... it is quite in car, everyone things it sounds good on take off but yeh I cant tell......... I hear my K&N Filter more so over the exhaust.

I have the normal box with the two hole mod and a K&N filter in it.......... I wasn't refering to a pod filter.

Standard airbox with K&N Filter, two hole mod seems to be the way to go.

You can change the exhaust on a V6 from a pathetic drone to an outright annoying drone. You will never get a decent sound from the V6 owing to the firing order of the engine. Simple as that so save you money.

Benboy sorry to go off topic. Your generalisation of a V6 is a stupid statement. Not talking holden, XR6 turbo, turbo of any sort, R35 GTR........ all v6's.......... ecotechs generally have a better sound then alloytechs in the 6's.

PS. Drone c'mon dude.......... u can EASILY have no drone and sound or no drone with a tiny exhaust note......... but if u buy crap, your sound is CRAP plain and simple. $$$, Time and Research = Better chance of the sound u want.

i've got a 2.5" twin catback system on my calais and for a 6 i reckon it sounds pretty damn good, and yes, i HATE the sounds most v6 commodores make...

I picked up a VY Clubby S/S cat-back system on my 175kw VZ exec. $15 off ebay! Extremely happy chappy. No drone, not excessively noisy. (Done stuff all for economy or power though! Such is life!)
