I keep getting dirty rims. Im pretty sure its something to do with the brakes. Just wondering if anyone could let me know whats causing the rims to get so dirty and what i can replace to stop it.
    Thanks guys

    Brake dust?

Umm you could stop braking.. but I wouldn't advise that :P

You could try some low dust brake pads?

any soft pad like bendix general ct's etc will dust because of the soft compund, but they make the car stop good,

ive got maxi-stop bizztec organic h/d, they dont appear to dust that bad

Here's one technique that makes cleaning your rims quite easy.

    * Give them a good clean with regular elbow grease and a sponge.
    * Cover the entire rim in supercheap tyre shine spray ($2 can). This will leave a slightly greasy film over the wheels.
    * When it comes to cleaning them, grab a can of degreaser from supercheap ($2) and give the wheels a quick spray. The degreaser will remove all the tyre shine spray thats been collecting the dust and leave your wheels looking clean again.
    * Make sure you wash all the degreaser off with a lot of water, then re-apply the tyre shine and start all over again.

I've used this technique on painted/shadow chrome wheels and haven't had any issues, not sure if the degreaser would damage chrome wheels though...

I've been using QFM HPX pads from GSL Rallysport for close to a year now and the amount of dust is a lot lower than the stock Holden pads. And the braking performance is better too!

I am using stock Holden pads. No evidence of any build up of brake dust deposits on the wheels.
