Question Decent price for vz sv6?

    Hello there holden fans!

    My first post

This weekend I'm going to inspect an 05' VZ sv6 with 115,000k's on it. (Private Seller)
It is a manual, and has fe2 suspension.

I'm able to purchase it with 17.5K.
    Excluding stamp duty..obviously

I was just wondering your thoughts and opinions on whether that would be a smart buy?

    Cheers

Average k's for a car that age would be around 80,000. average price anywhere from 15k upwards, buying from a dealer you would expect a price around that. buying privatly youd expect less, maybe 15-16k. from what you say it dosn't seem a bad deal if its from a dealer

Seems allright to me, but the kilometres are high for its age, as said previously considering its from a dealer then i suppose 17.5k isnt too bad, what colour is it?
But yeah ive seen them getting not far off 15k nowdays

just read your reply, since its private i would say it should be about 16-16.5, i dont think manual should really be dearer, considering its an sv6.

I bought mine from a dealer, 50k for $20 000. This was about a year ago...

For those k's and the fact it's a private sale, I'd aim lower aswell...

Have a look in the Classified's of this forum, there is a couple SV6's for sale.

    Does it have any mods?

Yeahh I tried negotiating with the seller but he wouldn't budge

But I love my manuals and I really can't find any others in vic

Yeah it has a redback cat-back exhaust,
but other then that it's stock

Due to the replys maybe I should just keep looking?

Well ive had a look around and it seems to be about as low as you can get for a manual sv6, youd be able to pick up an auto for 15, but yeah the manuals are definently higher, spose it just depends if you want to pay extra for the manual, because from what i can see on carpoint, 17.5 sems about right.

    Yeahhhh they're pretty darn rare.
Cept still the k's are pretty high >.<

    And I'm in Melbourne.

Whats the lowest a VE SV6 would go for?
My mate told me that an ex-fleet would go for 17.5?
    I highly doubt that though?

    Hrmm.. 17 500 is actually looking like a good price! : )
    I beg to differ:

    Redbook

Tell him $15500, take it or leave it!
What condition is the car in? any oil, coolant leaks etc.....

    Hahhaa geez.

Weird that considering ford BF XR6's made in 2006
you can get for 17K with 100,000ks

but yeah they have a poor resale value.

Just to let you know mate, i got my VZ SV6 for 17.5K in march and it only had 83,000K on the clock so you should be able to get it cheaper that dude, thats for sure.

    Yeah i know dude
cept I'm assuming yours was an auto?

the reason for looking into this car was because it was a manual
and theyre rare hence the higher price..

I bought my 05 Auto SV6 6 months ago for 18k with 80k on the clock. It was a private sale and had aftermarket stereo worth 3k. I though that was a good price as the car was in much better condition then the other 6 i looked at.

I wouldn't rely on redbook to much, never seams to be accurate....
