i just got a basic diagnosis scanner for my car, so i can do my own fault finding. only problem is i dont know what all this information from the sensors mean, I was just wondering if any one knows where i can get a sensor level specifications data thing on the net, for a zv SV6. I dont wanna get the book for 200 dollars if i can get the information on the net for free
im trying to work out if my sensors are working the way they should be, before i start replacing things that might not need replacing
does your scanner have a section for dtc? thats where you'll find any faults.
yeah it does.. but its not displaying any faults....
my main concern is its drinking to much petrol then normal...
when i got the car 8 months ago it was running at 11/per 100
its up to 14.5/ 100k, my driving style hasn’t changed... the guys at the mechanics said it might be oxy sensors... so i got this scanner to check but now i cant understand the damn thing and the mechanic dont know anything about reading the information, i dont wanna go to Holden yet
if an oxy sensor had failed you'd have a dtc logged. that said if your scanner can log the oxy sensors reading it should be reading an afr of 14.7:1 under normal driving conditions.
some scanners have a oxy test you can run on the sensors mine does.

naa it dont have it... its very basic, gives me the readings of every sensor in the car but it dont tell me if its not running the way its ment to or not.... its a sensor reader and a navi, basic dyno all in one... ill show you a log file from it
