i've got pacemakers going on soon (already have them) and going to get the exhaust place to install them, just wondering if i can add anything to the system to make it sounds better, ie hotdog or something?
any suggestions would be great!
Get high flow cats & put a hotdog on the rear.

it sounds shit because its a v6... :P sorry had 2 say it..
take the rear muffler out, it will make it louder, but there will also be alot more drouning(spellin)

It sounds like shit because it is a shit system....IMO....
One muffler on an alloytec is a big no no. You will need a resonator on the rear at the very least, and even that may not fix it. The biggest resonator you can fit will do the best job.
Extractors on an alloytec will probably make it worse as it makes it more raspy, hi flow cats magnify it again. You will get a pretty good gain in the seat of your pants but you will sacrifice sound quality.
Nothing will make it sound like the earlier V6's because of the nature of the engine, but the right system can make it deeper and less drony.
Sorry to tell you, but I think you just wasted $280.
well im getting the extractors put on tomorrow so we will see.
and the term "open up the cats" u have to do that to fit the extractors on right? or do i need to ask for it?
Thanks for your suggestions
Pacemakers and Ballistic hi flow cats sounds pretty awesome on my alloytec190 witout a catback!!

No, you don't have to "open up the cats" to fit extractors.
Opening up the cats is just enlarging the inlet and outlet size. The stock cats on the alloytec are right up near the manifold, so if they get reused they will hang fairly low because of their shape.
i got a VT ecotec with a 2 and a half inch exhasut from the cats back, i got the same issue....but trust me even tho you can't hear it on the inside....by **** you can on the outside
mates tell me all the time mines loud but i can't hear it...
haha makes me laugh ... exhaust sounds like poo hahaha
Yea I'm going Pacies dual high flow cats to 2.5" exhaust with a cross flow muffler. So I hope it doesn't sound shit. Not that I am too worried about the sound more want the engine to breath propperly. but yea 1850 for the whole lot so far. Thats alot of money to waste though :P
Two more cylinders should do the trick.![]()

mate, i have herd a shitload of ppl who have changed theyre exhausts on a vz. only to make it sound like paris hilton gargling amouth full of semen. The alloytec engines just dont sound nice. i have yet to hear an exhaust on an alloytec that sounds good. they either sound like 4 bangers or like crap.
go with a standard SS exhaust system, opens it up a bit and doesn't sound too bad and its quiet
My opinion is you get what you pay for...
Ebay specials 90% of the time are not goin to give great results.
*still trying to imagine what "poo" sounds like lol*
You will never get the V6 to sound any good owing to the firing order of the cylinders.
sounds not really that important any way ... no point spending a cent on the car if it ain't gonna go any quicker.
ok well i got my pacies installed and 2 high flow cats.....
on idle it sounds like a little beast really deep and lumpy... but as soon as u accelrate its a diffrent story....
so im gonna try flog this really good exhaustand get another one from the exhaust place..... the exhaust place reccomends a duel 2.5 that he also uses for gen3s... he said he has used them on alot of VZ and sound really awesome.
so i guess thats what im gonna do.
Has the AlloyTech taken the Wet fart in a tin can title away from the L67? lol
Dual 2.5 sounds a bit overkill for a V6?

would a resi or hotdog help my system much?
