hey guys don't know if there are many chicks on here but just recently had my 80,000 service done and was off to get new tyres this morning, had a flat on the way there and changed it, then battery went flat and we had to boost the battery. After all that my dash came up with "check powertrain" and there was a burning smell coming from the car and it felt as though the front LH wheel was grinding the one i changed please help any advice would be awesome.![]()
hey mate iv just hit 80,000 service in my vz thunder s and the engine light has come on and check powertrain in the dash as well so if anyone knows what it is would be good to know thanx
Was a new battery actually put in?
If just the flat battery was boosted, its not going to last long after that. Thats most likely why ur getting those msg!
Have the msgs come up b4?

Wheel you changed may not have been the correct one for the brakes (disk/caliper) fitted to your vehicle. If there is not enough clearance between inner wheel and disk then they will rub. Sounds like you need a new battery, should also get rid of erroneous messages. Good luck.
yeh there is a multitude of reasons why everythings happened,
could be related to little stupid things like a flat battery and incorrectly sized spare wheel, could be more then that and its all bad timing that its happened all at once
best to get it checked somewhere.
BTW I love the Thunder utes
Also kurt its been mentioned throughout the forum that powertrain issues are usually related to a faulty oxygen sensor
