foglights on vz clubsport front bar

hey i finally got my clubsport body kit installed on my car on the weekend, and it looks grraet. one little problem though which is i havent installed fog lights yet, i was curious though, when i see others and photos on the intenret, they have that black cover around the fog light. is that n actual plastic piece? or do you paint it like that or something. if its a piece, where can i buy them from??

My mate has a VZ Clubsport and he has these black plastic fog light surrounds. They are available from spare parts dept from a HSV dealer or from an authorised stockist. For example, in West. Aust. you can buy from AMCAP. They are not cheap. My mate bought a replacement as one of his came off when a roo grazed the bumper and the price was in excess of $150 for just one.

Put HSV and spare part in the same sentence and you will find some prices to be higher than you would expect.

really? thats a bit steep. ill get a price today as i have to go down and get a holden hsv badge for the bonnet so ill see what the price is.

Actually, I spoke to my mate today as I couldn't remember the price. He paid retail price and it was $310. He just wanted one as his had come off after a little bump with a bouncing animal (read:roo) although this was a dead one on the road that he hit. Anyway, he paid alot. IMO its not worth a quarter of that. But anything with regards to HSV parts Im guessing will be pricey.

woah thats bloody steep. but i guess i gotta get it or else itll look weird. my foglights should arrive next week so ill chuck em in n if it doest look right then ill have to buy them. its amazing how i cant find any on ebay or nothin

Based on the fact it's such a small/unique part, I don't like your chances finding someone who would produce these besides holden - there would be no money in it for them.

You could try maybe a wreckers?

i guess so, but at teh same time how many clubsports end up going to wreckers you know.
i emailed holden today and they go its $281 for each side, $562 all up. i emailed back going 281 for a piece of plastic. ill try wreckers this weekend, maybe ill get some luck

Another option you could try: do a search on google for 'VZ clubsport kit' and email everyone who offers the kit to see if they can supply it.

The exact fog light or driving light that will fit into a VZ Clubsport is the Narva Compac 80. My mate who owns a Black VZ Clubsport has done a swap from the standard fog lights to driving lights (ie spotlights) for better lighting on high beam. These fitted exactly in the same position as the original foglights.

The Narva Compac 80 driving lights part number 71830 light upto 300mts down the road as opposed to standard equipment foglights which are only good in fog and light up the edge of the road up to approx 20-50mts away. These new driving lights are now only used when high beam is activated to give more light on the road ahead.

You wouldn't know that they weren't the original foglights unless you look closely at the reflector in the light.

what are the steps involved in installing fog lights if youve never had them on your car before?

I couldn't be of help for that one. I have only ever swapped over foglights on cars which already had them from factory. Maybe someone else may be able to help? Anyone? Or do a search and check to see whether its been done before.

just received the narva foglights today. they are 100% excellent fit, thanks for your help.
all im doing now is running around looking for the covers that fit on top of the foglights without having to pay holden $562 dollars for the set AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHH!!
