on the vz alloytec it has a coolent bottle next to the cai.
the question is do you mix the coolent or do you poor just coolent?
if so whats a good mixture.
prob a stupid question but just thought id ask..
depends what you buy, most are just an 'additive' as in you need to mix water with it, and it should say on the bottle the ratio..
if you get a 'premix' then you pour it straight in.. as for where you pour the stuff in, your spot on, in the Coolant resivior it goes..

just changed my coolant last week,
Tectaloy ... um alloy something... its red and about 20 bucks at repco for the concentrate 500ml bottle which makes up 15 litres when watre is added.
Vz cooling system takes 10-11litres from memory. (14 as ben points out below)
Drop your bottom radiator hose, let old coolant run out, then stick a garden hose in there and give it a good backwash.
Connect bottom radiator hose back up, and undo the bleeder on the top left of radiator. (will need to remove shroud to do this.)
Undo the yellow coolant cap on the radiator and pour in about 3/4 of the coolant concentrate.
Add water to fill until you see it leek from the bleeder.
Tighten bleeder and replace yellow cap. Fire up the engine and crack the bleeder a small amount just to let any trapped air escape. If coolant just floods up it should be fine, just tighten up again.
You may need to open yellow cap again just to top up with a bit more water, make sure engine is off when you do this... the water system is extremely pressurized.
Put your shroud back on then your done!

Suggest that you buy and use only the correct coolant for the Alloytec engine. Check your Owner's Handbook for specific details of which coolant to use. To do otherwise is inviting problems. The following is from the Tectalloy website:
TECTALOY XP7 RED
Tectaloy XP7 Red is specifically formulated as a replacement for any factory fill red coolant more commonly found in late model vehicles. It is easily identified by its distinctive colour. Tectaloy XP7 Red is a premium silicate free glycol based Anti Freeze/Anti Boil providing long term corrosion protection with excellent heat transfer properties. The product contains a colour change warning feature should the coolant require changing prior to the scheduled service period, the coolant can vary in colour from red when functional to yellow if a change is required.
This product can be used as either a complete fill or further diluted by adding 1lt of demineralised water to every 2lts of coolant. This will result in a 33% Anti Freeze level.
The advice given to mix 500ml with 14.5 litres of water is incorrect. If you are using Tectaloy, 500 ml of additive will only make up to 1.5 litres of coolant. The ratio is 1 litre of additive to 2 litres of DEMINERALISED WATER ......DO NOT USE TAP WATER as it MAY contain TOO many unwanted minerals.
