strange stuff..
ok i have a vz lumina with 87,000 on the clock
occasionally when i start it it will come up with "abs fault" is this a problem?
also occasionally when i i go to put the car into drive or reverse it will violently engange the gear and like shake the whole car..?
are either of these things common and is it serious?
help appreciated!

not shure on the gear changing thing, but on the abs fault mine has done it twice now and i put up a post not to long ago about it, couple of blokes seemed to think its an early warning sign the battery is dying/losing its charge. My abs is still working fine as i tested it out but its a mystery to me and hasnt done it in about 3 weeks.

low battery charge on start up, common as, dosnt mean your battery is dieing, you could have had the stereo on for the day etc etc,

Check your universal and ALL connections.
my abs comes up from time to time, i do need new battery though, thats wat i have put that down to

Mine came up last week, the only difference was I was getting ABS fault and Airbag fault, then my battery was flat, once I replaced my battery, all good again. So possible sign your battery is on the verge of becoming useless.
Ill join the congo line. I solved the fault with a new battery. No more warnings and my car starts up smoother.

same problems my zed sometimes does the auto trans clunk but depends if i let the car roll forward before applying the handbrake,incline ect ect took it to the holden dealership they said nothing wrong that they could see

I started to get the ABS fault come up after my WL cluster went in, Phreddy checked everything & was dumb founded as to y it occured.
Btw, the fault only pops up if u leave the radio on for 5-10 mins then start the car. ABS still works A ok!

when your changing gears are you doing it at a complete halt? Ie into reverse, cuz if your rolling forward it will clunk as it slides in
