    Thumbs up Led Dash Lighting

Hi all. Well I have just finished changing all the little green led's (except the radio) in my VZ SS. After having PHREDDY put together and unbeleivable LED kit with full instructions it has turned out to look amazing. What I did with the steering wheel controls was to make them RED to got with the red stitching on the steering wheel. If any of you are planning on doing this, I recommend you either ask PHREDDY to do it or be VERY good with soldering and electronics as the surface mount LED's are very fragile and you really only get one go at putting them on! Having said that it was great fun and I highly recommend you give PHREDDY a PM and do it. His instructions are VERY comprehensive and really dont leave you asking "What The?"

Well, I hope you enjoy my pics, I am sorry about the quality but it is hard to take photos of lights without using flash!!!

    Cool

Well done Brett! First class job.

G'Day again all, hope everyone's doin' OK.

Love the red buttons - perfect on the SS, or other which has the red stitched leather wrap. Sweet!

Thanks for the kind words guys. I'm really pleased that a kit is viable, given of course that the installer has sufficient skills and experience.

Can you tell me what it costs to do a conversion like this and where to get the leds from? Is it possible to get a set of instructions for this?

Chook - replied to your PM, will get back to you again soon.

-b-e-v-a-n-, the job took me about 5 hours on the Munro, but then I've done an arse-load of Commy's before that so I know the tricks.

EDIT: Oh, Andre's SS - shoot me a PM, we can talk.

    Hi one & all.

That's my Monaro that Phreddy did. Being an electrician, I was contemplating trying to do the conversion myself - bloody glad I didn't. Phreddy came to my place & did an absolutely superb job. The red needles were the icing on the cake! They really set off well against the white of the instrument cluster & binnacle gauges as well as the gold & give it a real sporty feel.

As usual, the photos do not do the conversion justice. It looks a hell of a lot better in real life.

If you want to do this change to your ride, trust me, use Phreddy. Not only does he know what he's doing, but he's an honest man as well. I, honestly, cannot recommend him highly enough.

    Troy.

    LOL!!

G'day all, sorry I've been a bit quiet - busier than a one armed painter with crabs!

Thanks for those recommendations guys - you're embarrasing me!

Fair dinkum though, the day job has kept me racing about lately, and by the time I get home I'm usually knackered! Shortsta, if you're reading this thread I'll reply to your e-mail soon Mate, sorry about that.

Give me just a little while to get my arse connected properly and I'll get into some of this.

HAY! so it CAN be done. I had that idea suggested to me by friends, but as much as I wanted it, I didn't think it could be done. Now that i've seen it, I joined just to say that looks AWSOME!!!

Thanks Mate - LOL!! You've revived an old thread here!

In the recent past there has been a development on "colour morph" needles for speedo and tach, I've actually started doing VEs now, and just ironing out the last wrinkles with VT/VX conversions Woo-hoo!!
