Hey guys, my cousin recently bought a VZ Comodore, and the service spanner icon stays on the dash, after a fiddle and play around we couldn't remove it.. Before I tell him to ask holden.. Does anyone know how to remove it? Cheers.
Ok, apart from the icon. is there anything else it tells u?
E.g. service vehicle soon, service engine oil......

Mines doing the same at the moment as its 135,000 service is due in the next few thousand k's. It only does it on startup and after the car has been turned off. I've tried a few things, but as far as I am aware, it will keep doing it until its properly serviced, and reset.
1. With the ignition OFF, press and hold the up and down buttons of the Trip Computer.
2. Turn the ignition ON while holding down both buttons.
3. Keep both buttons held in for 3 seconds Approx..
4. Press and hold the 'Set' button for more than 3 seconds or until an audible alarm is heard.
5. The display shows - SERVICE RESET NO ITEMS.
6. Press and hold the 'Set' button for more than 3 seconds - the SERVICE OIL LAMP will extinguish.
7. Turn the ignition OFF, then ON again.

Keeping in mind if it says what i mentioned earlier, you cant reset it urself, you'll have to take it Holden to get them to do it.

Yeah, depends what service message it is.
If it's just a xx000km service message it can be removed in the above method.
But if it's a SVS (Service Vehicle Soon) message, that needs to be removed by Holden, or someone with a tech2.
