Im looking at purchasing a 2006 VZ Executive sedan. Are there ANY problems with this model that I need to know about or keep an eye out for?? Thankx
I got a 06 VZ Exec, not an issue to date (had it bout 1 1/2 years)........ maintence yes, but nothing really. I think u just depends on the car really.......... some will have faults, some wont.
poweredbycng well ur wrong, the 06 VZ Execs have 4 if they are a May06 model (euro 3)

My 04 VZ V6 has 115000 klms without an O2 issue.
But has the Tchain cold start rattle (tensioner?) common
to some examples.

I'm not afraid.
Yep mine has the timing chain rattle. Just make sure you have not got excessive diff lash back and also make sure suspension bushes are in good condition (no creaks from the suspension and it should stay straight when you brake hard.

mines done 150,000KM
had to replace the thermostat & water pump.
although this may have had something to do with me using John Deere tractor coolant (for cast iron engine blocks) on an alloy engine, the alloytec. lesson here is, dont do what i did, as it costs you shite loads in parts and more specifically labour (thermostat is in THE most inaccessible place ever on an alloytec)
but apart from that, no issues with oxy sensors or anything else.

Like any car. If they have not been correctly maintained and driven 'like they're stolen', then it would be reasonable to expect problems - regardless of the mileage covered. If you are unsure, get your local AA (Automobile Assocition) to perform a check of it.
not really important but my O2 sensors (well, front left) went at 68,000 so i just replaced them both

I haven't had any problems. It does have a noisy diff, my mechanic reckons that it's fine and alot of VZ's have this.
The stock rims are shithouse, get some that you can put wider tyres on and grip will be heaps better. Used to get wheel spin all the time in the wet, and I was being pretty careful with the throttle. My tyres may have also been crap, but alloys look better than stockies anyway. (This isn't really a huge problem but can be annoying when taking off from a stop up a hill in the wet.)
Thanks Everyone!!
Just don't go manual ^_^
Here is a website for VZ faults:

But personally I love the VZ.
